I'd sue her (the DA) anyways...even if I didn't think I was going to win. Just out of principle. Think of all of the hurt she caused TJ and his family.I think 3) would be awfully hard to prove. I get it’s a civil trial and preponderance of evidence is the burden instead of beyond reasonable doubt, but you’d have to “prove” (whatever the term is for a civil trial) that the DA did that.
I will always maintain that the DA proceeded to get a high-profile case as a distraction for her misconduct issues. But I would imagine that would be hard to prove. It would take others in the office basically saying “this case isn’t on the merits, but it’s a big name and I need the positive press”. This DA team is dumb, but I can’t imagine they are THAT dumb.
And should be first team all American but the AP is made up of many uneducated members who didn’t understand the case.TSJ deserves his jersey in the rafters, ILL LEGEND
True but also if you were put through this and knew you were absolutely innocent you would want justice as a victim. He absolutely was impacted financially and emotionally by all of this so it’s not always about money when trying to get closure to something horrible that happened to you.I agree with the sentiment but what's the point?
She likely doesn't have enough money to impact someone like Shannon and Shannon likely just wants to move on with his life away from this mess.
Objection. Relevance your honor.
"During the cross-examination of Shannon, prosecutors questioned him about his multiple NIL deals, receiving free Nike merchandise through the school, and driving to Kansas in a brand new BMW." - Is this talented athlete shaming?
ESPN has posted no news on the trial. Last article was six days ago.the news he’s acquitted will get 10% of the coverage than when he was accused
IANAL, but in my limited knowledge there has to be a civil suit for damages before a countersuit is filed....if I am correct. She’s about to get counter sued so hard
I’m eagerly awaiting the article on The Athletic. I’ll be sure to post an early comment encouraging everyone calling TSJ a rapist,The way certain media members handled this was truly embarrassing. Everyone just assumes guilty these days. There should be consequences for this behavior.
Yeah that's why I posted what I did about ESPN. Also other outlets like The Athletic, SI.com, the YTers, etc. who reacted to the story immediately when it was reported. Seen nothing so far on the verdict except Twitter.the news he’s acquitted will get 10% of the coverage than when he was accused
This reads "we didn't win but we weren't wrong." Take your statement and shove it.
I was on the jury for a murder trial. We found him not guilty in a case with a similar lack of evidence. After the verdict, we found out he had been in jail for 2 years, because he didn't have funds for bail. Unfortunately, this kind of thing is all too common.Just imagine if he doesn’t have the resources to fight this bogus charges.
Justice?I agree with the sentiment but what's the point?

Justice doesn't always have to mean someone gets punished.I agree with the sentiment but what's the point?

Eh, gotta imagine some defense lawyer would have looked at the case, determined it was extremely winnable, and then worked out a deal that TSJ only pays if they win (which enables him to make $$ in the league).Imagine if this was pre NIL. TSJ may not have been able to hire this top notch team of lawyers.
He would have had top notch lawyers no matter what.Imagine if this was pre NIL. TSJ may not have been able to hire this top notch team of lawyers.
It'd be interesting if a subpoena were to be granted for the DA's emails/communication regarding this case. I don't foresee that ever happening, but if it were, I do think a massive case could be on the tableI think 3) would be awfully hard to prove. I get it’s a civil trial and preponderance of evidence is the burden instead of beyond reasonable doubt, but you’d have to “prove” (whatever the term is for a civil trial) that the DA did that.

yep AND sit out games. who knows how much better he would have played without having to sit out six games and without this hanging over his head? Thank goodness for that Fed. Judge who ruled that he should be re-instated.Great news. But it’s a travesty he had to face the majority of this season under the cloud and stress of this case.
