Been out fishing all day and didn't get bit by anything but dolphins and sharks. This makes it all better. Great to finally have TSJ vindicated and cleared of this mess.
HANG HIS JERSEY IN THE RAFTERS!
I may be wrong but the state of Kansas has to pay his legal fees now.
If TSJ's attorneys weren't already fired up enough to bring the Malicious Prosecution case against DA Valdez, this "statement" should definitely be the tipping point in making that decision. What a warped person Valdez is in such a position of power that even following a jury's quick and decisive verdict in favor of TSJ after an inept prosecution she still does not understand the importance of the "presumption of innocence" in our criminal justice system. Sue her. This reads "we didn't win but we weren't wrong." Take your statement and shove it.
The reasoning of that opinion was almost as bad as the Kansas DA's case, but all's well that ends well.BIG kudos to Judge Lawless for letting him play. In retrospect, that was a VERY wise choice.
Bleacher report beats them on any breaking news EVERY TIME. Today is no different!Boy ESPN was sure quick to put up a "TSJ accused of rape" article and as of now "crickets".
Hang it upTo the people saying hang the jersey- Illinois has the following rules for that:
Players selected to have their jerseys hung must have achieved any of the following criteria:
1) National Player of the Year
2) Enshrined in the National Basketball Hall of Fame
3) Big Ten Player of the Year
4) Consensus First- or Second-Team All-American
5) Illinois All-Century Team Member
6) Individual whose pioneering efforts made a significant impact on Illinois and international basketball
Unfortunately thanks to the charges, his chance of being a Consensus All-American was taken from him. Maybe he'll get selected to the next All-Century Team.
Sadly the average fan will not see much on this since the people that trashed him won’t say a word. Many will only know and remember that Gary Parrish, Chicago Trib and others said he was a guilty rapist. Hope I am wrong and people apologize. This would help TSJ a lot. There are A LOT of people who owe TSJ a major apology. But I’m sure those will never come.
Ready to lace them up and run through a wall!!

I believe their point is that he would have been a consensus AA had it not been for these bogus chargesTo the people saying hang the jersey- Illinois has the following rules for that:

And this us why there exist the Innocent Project. If TSJ didnt have the resources, he us doing 15+ years. But then again without resources he probably isn't targeted.
Inspiring testimony to TSJ’s character regarding how he handled himself throughout what is one of the most tragic things one could go through in life. The powers that be will ultimately decide on where his jersey ends up. Regardless, there should be an annual award every season within the MBB program at UIUC for character, resilience, perseverance, or something like that to honor how TJ carried himself throughout this process.
