Were the parents of the alleged victim in court?

Just curious because that would further bias my opinion of the story…

And they did so with the guidelines that were in place at the time. There was no other option...

TSJ handled this with class and performed at highest level throughout the season. Go be great in the NBA young man!!!

I have to say, at times through all this I was too much of a fan boy cheering for TSJ to be acquitted. This was such a frustrating case, that it was hard to keep cool when insanity is unfolding in front of you.

But everyone who matters, from TSJ himself, to his legal team, to everyone at the university, all handled this situation in an impeccable and admirable way. I am so proud to be affiliated with this school and I am so happy for TSJ and his family that they should get the NBA Draft moment they deserve. Please Josh, put his name in the rafters. He is an all time Illini and everyone should know that.

With this cloud no longer casting shadow... TSJ is absolutely in the All Time Illini starting 5 right?

No necessarily career, stats, achievements, etc... but just purely making a starting 5 of the best players to ever wear the uniform..

Disclaimer before I say mine.. I am of an age where the 05 run was my first die hard following so my list is only 2000-current but...

1 Ayo
2 Deron
3 TSJ
4 Cook
5 Kofi

I obviously know of all the other all time Illini greats, particularly the 89 group but don't have the memories of actually watching them play. Would be interested to hear others opinions that include all(or more) of the history

Not including guys form the 70s that I know nothing about (a la Nick Witherspoon)...from the perspective of just picking a dream starting five combination of your liking...

for me it's...

Dee, Terrence, Nick, Kenny, Kofi...

Talk about a team that can run and jump (outside of Kofi maybe - who'd lock up the inside and have a bunch of outlets off of rebounds leading to jams)...

That honestly might be the starting five in terms of best players as well...it's all opinion based tbh...

There is something wrong with the justice system to allow a man to stand trial solely on the word of a woman claiming rape without any other evidence. I'm glad the jury got it right. The woman's name should now be published, and she should be prosecuted for making a false police report and be ordered to repay taxpayers for time spent on this case. TSJ should also sue her for every dime she has and any income she makes in the future. Something has to be done to deter women like this going forward.

I was at the Northwestern game and I am pretty sure was seated 2 rows back from TSJ parents. When he got that hard foul and the student section was cheering it when he was struggling to get up I just felt awful for them looking on very concerned. He clearly had a great support system to get him through something that would be high up on everyone’s list of nightmares. I sure hope exceptions can be made to cement TSJ in the Illini lore with an accolade as one of the best to put on a uniform.

Sadly the average fan will not see much on this since the people that trashed him won’t say a word. Many will only know and remember that Gary Parrish, Chicago Trib and others said he was a guilty rapist. Hope I am wrong and people apologize. This would help TSJ a lot.
David Haugh on 670 The Score also ripped on the University for playing TSJ.

I don't think suing the gal is worthwhile, she may actually been assaulted, we will never know. Now the DA's office??? He!! to the yeah! Some truly shoddy, embarrassing, unprofessional work/Investigating done on their parts.

We will wait until hell freezes over for the Dan Bernstein apology. What he said about TSJ and ILLINOIS when the charges were first filed was so outrageous and inflammatory that I have refused to listen to him on the radio since that morning. This Duke wanna be lawyer would sure be singing a different song if it was a Duke basketball player that was charged.
I stopped listening to that douche years ago.
You want to get even with him, buy him a mirror.

Shame on the baying hyenas and jackals that make up the student fan bases of other B10 schools who repeatedly shouted foul names at TSJ during away games this past year, and loudly chanted "No means NO!" whenever TSJ was introduced or went to the foul line. Shame also on the B10 and university administrators who tolerated this despicable behavior and apparently have no clue how the American justice system works, and zero sense of fair play or consideration for an outstanding young man facing flimsy accusations in a she said/he said case with low credibility. I am in awe how well TSJ and his family handled this intolerable situation with class and dignity throughout the entire ordeal. Some lucky NBA team is getting a terrific player, and an even better man. TSJ will forever be an Illini favorite.

Normally I’d say to take the high road. But not this time. I hope the Krush has kept receipts for when Northwestern next comes to town.

Nick Anderson, Kendall Gill, Eddie Johnson, Derek Harper, so many others that could be in there, what a program!
