At the high school level, the Lyons Township Lions came from down 20-0 to beat Downers Grove North 21-20 and remain unbeaten. DNG was also unbeaten. The Lions are coached by former IllinI QB Jon Beutjer.
Also, the Kankakee Kays, coached by former Illini Miles Osei, beat Bloom 46-0 and moved to 6-1 on the season. Only loss was a close one to Nazareth Academy in the season opener.

Cary-Grove 44-43 over Huntley in a game almost exactly like the Illini today. Difference was that CG played the Purdue role but made the late 2 point conversion to win by 1. CG 7-0 on the year.
Have to think having former illini at the helm of these programs gives us an advantage if we are sniffing around any of their players.
