Week 7 News & Games

This is the second time I've watched this Northwestern team, and they're not all that bad. Certainly a step up from Purdue. Their secondary has been draped all over the WR core tonight.
It appears that the Mildcats have a decent O-Line, a pretty good running back, and a pretty good D, based on tonight's play. Of course, it could just be that Maryland is making them look better than they really are . . .

On edit - then again, what do I know? I just checked the stats and they've got 35 rushing yards on the game . .

Always wondered this..... How does Terrapins get shortened to Terps...???? And I dislike their unis tonight...... And just to combine those 2 thoughts.....
At least they aren't the Maryland Richards.

Northwestern wins 37-10 while getting only 10 1st downs and converting only 3 - 3rd downs. Crazy.

Maryland needs to take some BB advice and not beat yourself.

Northwestern rarely beats a top team, they just pick off teams that make a lot of mistakes.

It certainly helps when your opponent gives you back the ball four times, and they score 20 points off those turnovers!

One of the wilder thing about Northwestern's win over Maryland is that it means that Indiana hasn't faced a single team with over a .500 record thus far this season. Talk about a dream 1st half of the season schedule. And crazier yet, while the back half of their schedule does get significantly harder, right now Indiana is on pace to only play a single road game against a team with a winning record this year! That's getting all the chips in the right places.

Today's top games include Texas-Oklahoma in Dallas, Ohio State-Oregon, and Ole Miss-LSU.

Today's schedule among the state schools:
-Noon, ESPN+: Missouri State at ISU
-2:00 PM, ESPN+: North Dakota State at SIU
-2:30 PM, ESPN+: NIU at Bowling Green
-3:00 PM, ESPN+: UT Martin at WIU
-5:00 PM, ESPN+: EIU at Tennessee State

Quite a busy weekend for Kirk Herbstreit. Called the Thursday night game in Seattle. Was in Eugene for College Gameday this morning but left the show about an hour ago (though he is still contributing to the show) to fly to Dallas to call Texas/OU.

This will happen for someone about every year with an 18 team league. The question will be can they take advantage schedule this year. IU has.

The Pac12 teamā€™s joining the B1G is potentially twice the enjoyment or twice the heartbreak, and everything in between.

Beating Iowa and Purdue could make my Saturday near perfect.

Butā€¦

And Maryland imploded last night.
