He's still getting paid for this yea and gets an extra year so yeah he will make way more money.I could see Ty wanting to maximize his NIL, but is he really going to make a lot more money with the redshirt?
2 years of Illinois NIL
Vs.
1 year of Illinois NIL and two years at another program where he might not make as much?
I like Ty but his offensive game is so limited. He can’t shoot. He doesn’t pass particularly well. He doesn’t handle particularly well. Will other programs be beating down his door trying to get him signed?
Honestly NIL inflation has been kind of crazy and we're seeing average power conference starters probably making as much or more than Shannon did last year(definitely more than he did two years ago). Coleman supposedly got 2 mil and the new top recruits supposedly have way higher asking prices.
Maybe that 2 million that Coleman got will be the average haul for a power conference guy in 2 years.
