Don't follow it closely but this seems excellent. Forces a team to have some depth to win it.

Also, I thought that the higher seeded team gets to set his match up last. Other coach sets up his guys. Small will decide who goes against whom. Is that correct?
I think they rotate so like one coach says one player then the other coach responds with their player for matchup then that coach starts with a player and other coach responds. So the better seeded team gets to choose 3 matchups the worse 2, I believe.

Vanderbilt finished sixteen strokes ahead of 9th place, and sixteen strokes behind the Illini. This is probably the most impressive performance in Coach Small's time at Illinois, and that's saying a lot. A "down year" where we were ranked 15th to close the season and didn't win the B10 championship, but we came out strong on the big stages. Depth was a concern, but not anymore. Fantastic job all around!

Match play is always flukey, but given how well the team has managed this course it's hard to count them out. Let's do this!

has to be one of the most impressive streaks of golf in Illini history. Dominant at regionals and now the stroke play of Nationals. Yes, it is not trophies, but this time of form is a massive showing of what this program is about and can do. Lets not lose sight of the fact this was a team that had its share of questions to answer over the season and to come here and do this is freaking unreal. Lead the field in birdies, led the field by a good bit on par 5 scoring. That ain't scrappy play, that is we are the big dogs and you all gotta hang with us play. Everybody played well and the team bodied these 4 days.

Match play is different all together. It is a mental game, I love it. Anybody at this point can beat anybody but Georgia tech is about as favorable as a matchup you could ask for at this point.

I really, really like Mad Max's game face. It shows that he came to not just play, but to win. I really really do.

Illinois has been the best team by far this tournament on par 5s although we do have 3 bogies on 2 and then what do you know 2 of the hole losses come on hole 2. Although it looks to be playing tough today I bet it’s the hard pin location day.

Illinois has kinda struggled on 5 so far compared to other teams as goecke takes a hole loss with a bogey there. It’s been their worst hole compared to the field. Strange because on a lot of the other par 4s Illinois has been better on that the rest of the field has struggled on. Also Tyler’s match has yet to have a halved hole after 5 holes.

Scores are moving around very fast this morning. Down in a match, then 2 Holes later up. The drama of match play is showing

And just as I say this Jackson birdies 5 to take a 2 hole lead. Max birdies 4 to take a lead too. All 3 Illini players so far have birdied 4 and won the hole.
