This reminds me of a thought I had the other day but didn't get around to posting. What's up with WWW - World Wide Wes? He used to be a big-time handler for the likes of UK if I'm remembering correctly. But even in the years prior to NIL I was thinking I'd not heard his name brought up in many many years.
A little over $900k split five ways. Or about $899,900 more than Illinois gave Hart Lee Dykes to stay in a motel room for one night.
Ed Martin testified in court that he paid Webber a total of $280,000 between 1988–1993. Webber admitted to payments of ~38k "that he repaid." I don't recall the numbers for anyone else being in the court case.

It's been years I think since I've seen anyone who wants this coach fired. This is the type of hyperbolic coaching defense that really drives some people like me crazy. Basically, any criticism of the coach gets translated into "wanting the coach fired."
I'd truly be curious about the last post from someone with more than 50 posts on this board calling for the coach to be fired. maybe 2019?

It’s not that hard to find posts saying things like how Brad isn’t worth the money Illinois is paying him, how he’s losing booster backing, talk about if his seat is getting hot, and a lot of speculation on which coaches we’d welcome if for some reason Brad wasn’t the coach anymore (too many Sean Miller gifs to count were posted last offseason …).
So yeah, someone would have to spend a lot of time trying to find an actual post specifically spelling out their desire for Brad to be fired … but it’s super easy to find posts of people daydreaming about the same thing but without saying the special words “Brad should be fired”.
Rotation Prediction as we sit here in late August:
Starters:
Boswell (30 minutes)
KJ (29 minutes)
Tre White (23 minutes)
Ben Humrichous (23 minutes)
Morez Johnson (15 minutes)
Bench:
Will Riley (21 minutes)
Ty Rodgers (17 minutes)
Carey Booth (16 minutes)
Tomislav Ivisic (14 minutes)
DGL (11 minutes)
Jason redshirt and Jake Davis will play spot minutes if we need shooting
I do think towards the end of the year the three freshman minutes could go up. Out of the vets, I think Boswell Ben and Tre will play the most overall. Also think Carey Booth will surprise a lot of people this year and be in line for a massive role as a junior.
Think Ivisic and Morez is a coin flip right now. I would guess we see both start at separate points this season.

This is far from set though. DGL could carve out a much bigger role and I would not be shocked. All ten of these guys have the ability and talent to start at the high major level. Crazy good problem to have.
I think it Ivisic had gotten here earlier he'd be starting and wouldn't be surprised if he started at least some games as the season goes on.
Ten guys playing 10+ minutes? That's a little rare, but if this how it turns out - the depth...as well as the quality of talent...

Most of the speculation about other coaches were when other coaching spots looked like they could be destinations for BU. Are BU's supporters so sensitive that they begrudge fans the right to speculate when his name is openly bandied about for other jobs?
As to the special words, those are from the OP, not me. And as I noted, that's the type of hyperbole that's become common place by a few people here.
Ironically, the person most responsible for saying he was losing boosters was on of the beloved insiders.
As to him being worth the money we're paying him, there's lots of ways to measure that and some where he'd come up short. Personally, I want to keep him and I think the money he makes is reasonable for what he's accomplished and what I see for the future.
I stand by my point that BU's biggest supporters pretty much attack anyone with who says the slightest critical thing.
Feels like kind of a bum deal for Davis to burn a year of eligibility for spot minutes. Any chance he redshirts since minutes look so spotty and then could always burn the redshirt and play if needed.
Not a whole lot of teams out there where you'd be having a conversation about Riley possibly not starting and DGL being the 10th guy...I know that...

Keep in mind, there’s a difference between season stats, which accounts for early season blow outs, potential players missed time due to injury, ruts, etc, and who’s playing in tight games in the tourney.Ten guys playing 10+ minutes? That's a little rare, but if this how it turns out - the depth...as well as the quality of talent...
My guess is, by tourney time we’ll be down to a standard 8 man rotation with the 9th and 10th playing spot minutes.
Def. a likelier outcome. Still, the talent level mixed in with that depth...I'd be a little surprised if we are a non-top 25, 8-10 seed come March like all these quote on quote "experts' are saying.

Assuming all of Morez' and Ivisic' minutes come at the 5, who else is taking 11 minutes at that spot? Booth, Hummer?
This looks pretty good and I completely agree that Booth could be a monster next season. So athletic at that height.
Because we have so many guys who have the ability to be starters, I think more than ever you will see a match-up based starting line up.
Regular practices haven’t even started yet. Ivisic is here in plenty of time. KJ has only been here two weeks longer than Ivisic and that was back in June.

F. Humrichous, Booth
W. Rodgers, Riley, Davis
G. Boswell, White
G. Jakucionis, DGL
Ivisic and Johnson pretty much split minutes.
Ivisic was recruited because he can open up the floor on offense with his 3 point shooting and passing.
Rodgers starts the year in the lineup. Underwood loves him.
Riley works his way into the starting lineup eventually.
Humrichous plays the third most minutes and is a top three scorer.
The rotation will eventually be 8-9. Someone will not be happy, but coaches almost always go to their top 8 for major minutes when the competition ramps up.
