Didn’t see it here, but the FIBA/Olympic/international 3 point line is exactly the same as the NCAA line at 22 feet, 1 3/4 inches (22 feet in the corners). This change happened a couple of years ago.

I still contend that the day is coming soon where the NCAA just adopts FIBA rules full time. The game is so international now that it makes sense to play by a single set of rules. We already saw the NIT use the wider NBA/FIBA lane as an experimental rule.

I think this expectation for Tomislav is way too low.

Just move the three points line back and keep everything else the same. Don't mess with the shot clock, don't get involved in "illegal defenses", etc.

I love BU, but I cannot stand that "we need to shoot more threes" philosophy. Those thoughts should be screaming to the rules committee that the line is too short.

That said, I think that the NBA should back their line up even more to get the "true center" back in the game. I do wonder that in the modern day draft and with the way that the game is played...would Shaq still have been the top pick?

One of the things that can make Illinois special this year is the variety of quality starting lineups based on matchups of a given opponent.
For example, I would like to see Tre White and Ty Rodgers both start when we play Rutgers.
Both at 6'7", they provide the best defensive matchup against Baily 6'8" and Harper 6'6".
That is our best option to neutralize their two Freshmen stars as much as possible.
At that point, we beat them at the other three positions as well as the bench.
Next game, new opponent, perhaps a new lineup.

I'm not a fan of the international rule of messing with the ball around the rim. I prefer the offensive and defensive goal tending rules.

Thought this was interesting...can't confirm the accuracy.

IMO, Booth might be the best matchup for us with Baily. I'd say Ty for Harper.

Tbh, I would just like to see us zone in on those two as much as possible. They quite honestly just don't have the pieces around those two. I like the guy they added from EMU but...I mean...

Derek Simpson is probably their 4th or 5th best player. He'd probably be the 11th guy here at best. Whoever their next best guy is...they probably wouldn't even get a scholarship here.

Not trying to sound too dramatic but...yeah...

Yep. And Morez will be important to spell Ivisic if he is tired or in foul trouble. Hopefully Morez can develop 3 point shot. I’ve not seen him shoot from perimeter in his videos. Maybe he has?
Just for context, Ivisic hasn't averaged more than 17mpg in the past 3 seasons in the ABA. While I'm not saying he's incapable of playing more, I really do think him and Morez are going to be almost as pure a platoon for playing time as you'll see with both getting around 18-22mpg depending on foul trouble. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Brad rotate Tomislav and Morez 4-6 minutes on, 4-6 minutes off all game. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Booth get some early season action as both Tomislav and Morez adjust to how the NCAA calls fouls. Also Morez can hit the three decently, though not even close to as well as Tomislav.

I believe Robert addressed this topic at some point in the past two years. Quite a bit of the incoming revenue can be justifiably split among multiple sports programs within the school. Unfortunately, the methodologies used to split those dollars differ among colleges/universities. Hence we find ourselves often comparing apples to oranges. (Example: Illinois might direct more of the "gray area" revenue to basketball, whereas Wisconsin may direct it towards football.)
