Why did we stop running McCray
The hit on the slide, and multiple holds where Minn got big yardage. Those were big mistakes by the refs. I don’t care about the ones called, they made mistakes. I don’t think it changes the outcome as they were winning the trenches all day.7 penalties on MN, 2 on Illinois.
Why did we stop running McCray
Targeting. Should go out of the game if they aren’t going to call it. Sad refs
It seems like we think we have to run between the tackles. The one time we call an outside run it's with our power back and not our speed back.Watching Laughery run up the middle was almost as annoying as the refs today.
At least 3 or 4 of those cases McCray gets 7 or 8 yards vs 2 for AL.

McCray was actually breaking tackles. McCray was bullying those guys and we went away from him in the second half
Until you have Dudes on the OLine and DLine that can dictate a game...this is what we get. Games decided by big plays, poor officiating missed/bad calls.
Luke's pocket presence is pretty weak sometimes....but he's been running for his life all season.
We are a poor blocking and tackling team.
7 carries for McCray to 5 for Laughery. Even if you take his long run out he was 6 for 32. Laughery seems to have no vision or patience and just runs straight into the back of his lineman even when there are holes open. McCray absolutely needs to be the go to guy the rest of the way. Giving clutch carries to Laughery is almost criminal at this point.
