Just saying if you look at his numbers they don't look all that different then what Coleman put up last year. Obviously that's just stats and they don't always tell the story but that looks like a pretty good season until he ended up in Boeheim's doghouse.
The peak of Alan's collegiate career was when he "accidently" stepped on Sasha Stefanovic's face vs. Purdue. From that point on he had to try and live up to his legendary status and it was too much weight to bear without Sasha's maxillary bones.

This was more about starting right away than overall college career. Love Coleman but he needed a couple years to develop and we are in an era where many kids don't stick around at the same school all 4 years. Rankings aren't the most important but are somewhat a decent indicator of college readiness right away. If we are going to cherry pick some rankings I would say the difference between Ayo at #30 and the #1 was much less than the difference between Ayo at #30 and Tevian Jones at #102 in the 2018 class...
I don't think anyone has any illusions of Wagler playing a lot next year. You can't build an entire roster with guys who expect to play immediately. You need some guys who are there to develop, even if they end up playing somewhere else. You have to practice against someone, and hopefully they aren't pouting about not playing.
