Haven't been around much these past few weeks: what's the smoke on Jasper? Do we stand a legit shot here, and is there any sense of when he's looking to commit to a school?
He's a wildcat until something major happens

Sure. The issue is that it didn't need to be that difficult.
I get the sense he was trying to get his man to move toward the baseline instead of get closer to him while also stepping back. In that sense, he got it done, but he also had a step on him and could have taken it to the rim for an easier shot/putback chance.

Seems like we might have a shot but recruiting is fluid.

He didn't truly enjoy his KY visit according to one of the gurus and they are 3rd at best for him. If truly the case, kinda wonder who the team to beat is in this recruitment...and if it is indeed Illinois, who the biggest threat is to us getting him (because it seemed like KY up until recent).

Probably Baylor as they have his HS coach but kinda surprised he hasn't taken a visit there yet. He's also taken visits to UNC and Bama.

Or he could have just done a more traditional step-back three. Remove the spin. Solved.

Applying a college basketball lens to pick apart the decision-making in an OTE game is a fool's errand, particularly as it relates to a single play. Same things could've been said when watching DGL's senior year game tape. He's not going to play like that at the next level, but the skill/strength/agility/etc. needed to take and make that shot speaks to a high level of talent.

To make that shot demonstrates athleticism.

To make it consistently (would) demonstrates skill…but also perhaps poor choice of a skill to work on.

Brad will fix that. Lol

Assuming he stays 2025 ...

Kentucky sitting 4th as of today ...

Tier 1: Bama, UNC, Illinois

Tier 2: UK, Baylor

If he goes 2024 ... Bama is out ... UNC is out ... Baylor is out ...
