the ratings service that has Fears at #59 doesn't have much credibility with me. 70%? smh, I marvel at their model. that said, Khamenia has myriad great options. you'd be foolish to not take the field over us.
Saw some of his stuff after seeing we offered him...kinda similar to Matas Buzellis maybe...?

Never really understood the Fears 30 spot drop to 59...they got him at 56 currently but feels like he's a sure-fire top 50...if not sure fire top 30-40...

On3 Industry might not be that bad. They got him at 27.

It is what it is with rankings...

I think I saw Tomislav will be here next week, which I assumes means we will be getting a special delivery from Canada by then as well...

It would be fun to just recreate the U18 Olympic team...
Is anyone else getting the feeling that Morez and Jeremiah are as good as recruiters as we have? LOL,

I guarantee you that during that South American U-18 tournament that Jeremiah and Morez were talking about the university of Illinois basketball and the warmth and love that they are feeling from our coaches. I’m sure it made a difference in a few of the players minds.

IIf we get Riley, I don't see Ty as a starter. But BU can be very stubborn. In any case, that's a whole lot of extremely talented players getting a whole lot of minutes. How to keep so many guys happy? And how to establish the blend that works best? Those are the questions.

This guy going to Florida just had a growth spurt from 7’6” to 7’9”. I say we grab him via the portal after he clears 8’.
Watched him on the U18 Canada team and he's completely unplayable right now despite his impressive height and strength. Right now he has no lateral movement, no positioning, no post moves, no shooting, and no ability to finish. If he can change that he'll be great, but to say he is a deep deep deep development project is an understatement if anything. I project him as Nick Smith with a much much much better body but with less basketball skills and shooting.

It's like you are playing against 4th graders with an 8' basket.

I can just imagine Riley laughing his !!! off knowing he's got thousands of old farts like me on the edge of their seats.

Just following the logic here- the only thing Painter saying this accomplishes is to make himself look good and throw the kid under the bus and make it sound like you broke up with him

Which can only mean -> Painter is still pissd that he lost his highest ranked recruit ever

Which probably means -> It didn’t go down exactly like this. If he was truly ready to move on from the kid, what is the point to airing this?

When Skyy left in the middle of the season, literally quit on his team - Brad never said a bad word about him, in fact made sure he got his NIL still, which he didn’t have to do

I’ll take Brad’s approach every time rather than pump your chest to the media to make a kid look bad
I very much dislike Purdue so hate to defend him, but from what I hear this is not far from the truth. Was not a one-time thing but rather several occasions where Catchings wanted out, then back in, then out again. Think Painter just finally felt enough was enough.

While the story is certainly possible, it’s still a bad look to air your dirty laundry in public.

One of my good buddies is a Purdue grad who follows sports and recruiting closely. He said, Catchings wanted a guaranteed starting spot and minutes. Painter told him, we don't do that, earn it, and you'll get it, and I think you're good enough to earn it. He said, I want a guarantee, or I'm decommitting. Painter said, we'd hate to see you go, but I don't give minutes, they have to be earned. Catchings then said bye.

I had not heard of him wanting to come back. I couldn't certainly see Painter saying, you don't have the right attitude for my team, but with a potential 1 or 2 and done player, I would think he'd warrant a second chance. So that part is a bit strange.
