Why does it matter if he started for an Elite 8 team? Who else did we even have to start? Also, he rarely finished games, which is far more important than starting.Tyler has confirmed Ty was given no guarantees, but I simply can't imagine a guy who started 38 games for an E8 team coming back for Jr. year and coming off the bench.
Is that guy by any chance named Dan?You gotta be first to the counter. (Actually, second. The guy putting the slices on the counter is first).
I'd love to find a guy with a stache like Tom SelleckWould love to find and stash another guy to develop.
Yeah & Werner said something similar on his podcast as well... I think we are going to be a lot of fun, but with so many young-ish & new faces next year's team could be building towards '25.I mean, it’s just two normal dudes taking sports every day, but I’ve listened to most of their podcast for about a year and am usually entertained. They are usually critical of all big ten teams, especially the ones from Michigan they follow. Overall, they’ve been pretty high on Illinois. This portal season I do agree that they’ve been wishy washy on us. But over the course of each show they end up backtracking and saying how good we could be.
Ty doesn’t strike me as a guy that asks for guaranteed playing time. That guy is a worker. Anyway, match ups dictate line ups.Tyler has confirmed Ty was given no guarantees, but I simply can't imagine a guy who started 38 games for an E8 team coming back for Jr. year and coming off the bench.
Lathon or Monsanto? Or better year, Hugo?
The media is going to want a starting lineup of White Booth Davis Booth and Johnson.
I don't think Ty is really a SF (he's more of a PF), but he might be able to play there if you have Ivisic, Hum, KJ, and Kylan on the court with him because all those guys can shoot. Of course it would be nice if he could extend his range a bit beyond 5 feet.Ty doesn’t strike me as a guy that asks for guaranteed playing time. That guy is a worker. We have three members on the Illini team now or soon to be that have made the USA U-18 national team. We have Morez Johnson and Jeremiah Fears this year and ….. Ty Rodgers in 2022. Quite an accomplishment.Ty Rogers is NOT going to back down from anyone.
Nothing is certain and won't likely be even by the end of the year. However, we will see every possible combination categorically stated as certain by a myriad of posters over the next four months. What is for certain is that this team will be young and talented and sorely looking for leadership and chemistry....far bigger questions that need to be answered than who starts. Are we so certain Ivisic starts over Morez?
