Why does it matter if he started for an Elite 8 team? Who else did we even have to start? Also, he rarely finished games, which is far more important than starting.

I've got:

Boswell
KJ
White
Humrichous
Ivisic
I think BU values highly all the other things he does well besides shoot the ball, which is why he started all the games on a good team and was a contributor.

He didn't finish a few games, that's true.

If I had to bet, the place in BU's head/heart where he's an adamant Damonte Williams proponent leads him to start Ty again (whether he has made huge strides in his jump shot or not).

We need to get the buy in from our other insiders. Adding another piece seems highly unlikely. There's only so much playing time to go around.

“If/when he signs, there are a lot of really good pieces here. If you're BU, where do you even begin to start in putting it all together? I'm assuming there'd be one more to add?

That first day of practice will be interesting. It'll be like Gene Hackman(Coach Norman Dale) in Hoosiers.”

If there is another, I’d assume he’s a project.
Has to be.

The ceiling on this team is going to be extremely high because we have some interesting players that probably all need development. If two or three of these guys take significant steps forward and things fall into place from a leadership perspective, this could be a really great season. If it's a bit of a long development ride and the floor is a bit low....that's ok. Given how young and inexperienced this roster will be in 2024-2025, , we'll be starting 2025-2026 in a much, much better spot. Hopefully we won't have to go through a whole roster flip again...ever. it'll be an interesting first two months. Brad lined up a pretty tough non conference schedule. Looking forward to seeing how we handle it.

Who is likely to take on the leadership role on this team? I’m assuming Ty. Is there a belief that Hum can take on that role? The 2022 team had a lot of issues but the apparent lack of leadership on the court was pretty concerning throughout that year.

Wasn't Davis mainly a 4 at his previous school? Not sure he's quick enough to guard a 2. Our guard depth is probably enough though but could potentially be worrisome.
I don't really see an issue. You have two legitimate points guards in Boswell and KJ plus a combo guard in DGL. Then you have Ty and Tre who are both capable of handling the ball and athletic enough to guard.

Honestly, even Hum could likely function as a guard offensively.

You're probably right, but I wish he wouldn't. Ty is so limited offensively you don't have to guard him. That makes it harder to spread the floor.

...if he is the worst defensive player out there you hide him on defense on the worst 2 -4 on the other team, providing his offense is enough to justify playing time. On offense, not sure traditional 2 -4 matters, maybe even 5...I think we will hunt mismatches and he spends most of his time coming off screens and hunting 3s

I can't see an A. He/they missed on a lot of guys they wanted. Somewhere in the B to B+ category fits
Glad you weren't grading my English papers in school. This is like closing time at the bars, misses don't matter, 8 - 100 is no better than 8-8 if you end up where you want. We took a few 2+ year guys early, seemed to pass & not overspend on some highest bidder players, ended up with a well rounded roster, a top pg, what looks to be a top combo guard & a top legit 7 ft who should be able to stretch the floor. No one went out and bought the top 5 guys in the portal.

a lot of new pieces to blend together, so there is risk with all the new comers, but we knew that was coming with last year's choices.

if Will Riley wants in (and we find the resources to do it), he gets the last schollie, 110%. we all know Brad loves to have one open for a mid-season transfer, but Riley is the real deal. no sense in waiting to see what's behind the other doors.

a late add may ruffle some feathers. no promises to Riley. he's gonna have to earn tick. if he's ok with that, bring him on. FWLIW, I'm ok with morphing into an NBA farm team
