You realize this is a fan message board. Without speculation over the off season we’d be left with little to do other than sharpening one’s counting skills.
I blame at least 50% of the ignores on this site as collateral damage from the Pruman Bikini Wars. It was a dark time.
Of course. But it gets ridiculous how board members read that we're after/in with player X and then when we don't get that guy, start badmouthing the staff, insiders, our NIL program, etc. These people treat insiders' reporting on a prospect as a promise that we're going to get that kid.
Brian Randle was super athletic and never averaged 10 points a game for a season...being "athletic" isn't the only thing

He was a marvelous basketball player in his prime. Would have been interesting to have seen what he would have accomplished on the court if not for all the injuries. RIP

personally, i think campustown was never better than when I attended UofI between 2010-2012. definitely the golden era for C-U. best sports teams, too

I also worry about how he’ll handle athleticism but for the exact opposite reason that you do. He doesn’t appear like a plodder to me like some European players do. He actually looks like he might be in the top half of euro athleticism to me. And while he looks extraordinarily skilled, if you’re used to having an athleticism advantage over your competition, and then all the sudden you’re one of the bottom 2 athletes on the floor, that takes adjustment.
KGU… you’re a solid poster and I enjoy your contributions. Keep it up… you’re a valuable member of the community.
However, having reviewed this thread at nobody’s request, I’m afraid I must cite you with the following newly created violations:
1. Improperly critiquing the count: the 96 GIF and the 101 Dalmatians GIF were both in their proper position. 96 is post #97 and 101 is post #102. The count always refers to the reply, as the “first” reply is always post #2 behind Dan’s post #1
2. Misuse of the sarcasm symbol: sarcasm is saying something like “oh, I TOTALLY respect the post count” when you totally do not. Generally speaking, it is an exaggerated statement conveying the opposite of words stated. This body (me) finds nothing meeting that standard in your alleged sarcastic statement.
3. Illegal revision of history: this body (again, me) does not believe you made earlier posts “just messing with them as a joke.” It is this body’s contention that you made a mistake on the 96 and 101 critiques and created an elaborate, but grossly problematic back story which you hope would be believed at best or, at worst, ignored. Sadly, we are here at this tribunal because neither of those outcomes occurred.
Your punishment? I’m afraid that will have to be left up to Dan, who will no doubt see this ruling and ask “why the f#&k did I leave these children alone?!?” He will no doubt find this entire debate and/or discussion as inanely absurd as he will my efforts to research, recap and prosecute them. In short, he will roll his eyes at all of us.
I trust this concludes the matter, or in the alternative, escalates it.
While I personally really enjoy "tongue in cheek" ribbing and sarcasm, I can attest that many on this board do not enjoy such things. One must consider these things before trying to lighten the mood with levity and "jokes". I can personally attest to what can happen when such "jokes" are taken the wrong way. Be careful out there my brother and God speed!
