personally, i think campustown was never better than when I attended UofI between 2010-2012. definitely the golden era for C-U. best sports teams, too

uhhh, no. Our best period for sports was the end of the millennia/beginning of 2000s. In 2001, we won the conference in Football and Basketball. Went to the Sugar Bowl and an Elite 8.

While I personally really enjoy "tongue in cheek" ribbing and sarcasm, I can attest that many on this board do not enjoy such things. One must consider these things before trying to lighten the mood with levity and "jokes". I can personally attest to what can happen when such "jokes" are taken the wrong way. Be careful out there my brother and God speed!
Concerning one’s self with those who do not enjoy levity and jokes is perhaps the worst decision a person could make.

Bill Walton died of a broken heart, having recently lost his true love, the CONFERENCE OF CHAMPIONS!

RIP big man!
I may be in the minority, but I loved Bill Walton. He was weird as $h!t. But that was a man filled with joy. He absolutely loved basketball, and doubly loved West Coast basketball. It was a long strange trip to listen to him call a game, but always fun.

There have been a few good ones. 1962 to 1965 was decent. We won the 1964 Rose Bowl with Dick Butkus and Jim Grabowski. The Basketball team had won the Big Ten in 1962/1963.

The 80's pretty much belonged to the Illini. 1983 in FB followed by 1983/84 in BB was a great year. 1988/89 in BB; 1989 in FB.

It’s being reported on a Madrid based twitter account that Egor Demin is indeed going to sign with BYU having made an agreement for $1.5 million. Wonder if Hugo Gonzales is available if true.

How is BYU's roster? BU must know that he doesn't want to create locker room issues, probably wants to keep NIL in PAR with others. Hugo Gonzalez is the natural get if availiable, more the two and scorer than Kasparas. But I would gladly take either, in fact I would take any of the talented SGs that will pull out of the draft (Wells, Robinson, Coward).

If Hugo Gonzalez is coming to the states to play college ball, he's going to receive A LOT more than what Demin's reportedly agreed to with BYU.

Hold your peppers! Lots of hyperbole around Gonzalez, he has a more body ready built. But Demin is more multi-dimensional. Defensively he created problems for Traore who looks like a future NBA all-star and is #2 overall pick in many mock 2025 drafts.

Do you remember the Derrick Rose vs. Eric Gordon debate? Gordon was the better shooter and offensive threat. In this scenario Demin is Rose and Gonzalez is Gordon.

Saw Demin get tough rebounds, assist, steals, blocks...Swiss Army Knife.

Of course. But it gets ridiculous how board members read that we're after/in with player X and then when we don't get that guy, start badmouthing the staff, insiders, our NIL program, etc. These people treat insiders' reporting on a prospect as a promise that we're going to get that kid.
It almost seems like you're just now realizing that we have some dimwits among our fanbase.
