Curious - how was his college coach allowed to keep his job? And how did his college program avoid NCAA suspension?
For either of those things to have happened there would have to be oversight from an organization interested in maintaining a level playing field, rather than maximizing profits. Those values have gone the way of the dinosaur.

No idea what the Roddy connection is but would fricking love him in the O&B. Have watched him several times when Colorado St. is on late night. Could have played D1 football. Just a flat out dog, Underwood type of guy.

I guess I just don’t get it after reading all of his comments after the visit to Champaign….

Even if we lose kylan, we still have Epps, hes looking better everytime i watch his highlights. Curbelo is here probably another 2 years too. PG is locked down for us for the next couple years

I kind of pictured Boswell more as SG like a better Adam Miller who will mostly operate around the 3-pt line.

If his decision is AZ, my bet is that it is based upon proximity to his immediate family or style of play (fast break vs. half court offense)

I just want to know, if our insiders were saying he's telling players he's coming to Illinois, was he lying to be "nice"? Did he change his mind that quickly? Were people told misinformation? Did someone else make the decision for him? or what?

When did anyone say he's telling players he's coming to Illinois? I don't recall that. Regardless of what anyone says, no one really has an in depth knowledge on the recruitment process other than Boswell. Don't put so much weight to what people say.

Kids almost always tell every school what they want to hear. If you follow recruiting for a while you'll figure this out. I'm guessing most of us would do the same thing in their shoes as a 17-year old. I doubt he told anyone "I'm playing for IL." More likely "I really like it here" or "I could see myself playing here." And the insiders' contacts relay this info and what he said morphs a bit each time it is relayed to another person.

It's good we got this out of the way early, so we can focus on other PGs in the 2023 class.

I don't have a specifc answer to this question but there's a couple things I think to always consider on insider information.

1. The insiders on this site have connections to our basketball program. So what they're hearing is what is being told to our program, whether it be our Ath Dept, coaching staff or players. All the people in the information chain our Illinois people, and the lens through which that is filtered has an Illinois bias.

2. The info is often based on what the recruit tells the insiders' sources, who are Illinois people. Humans like to be liked, and therefore will slant information in a way the recipient will react to more positively. This probably means recruits often paint a more hopeful picture to the guys recruiting them. Might even mean recruits give assuances they won't stick to.

All of this combines to mean you should probably take what the insiders say as the most Illini-favorable interpretation of what is happening behind the scenes. I think the information provided is good info. Boswell was probably saying the positive stuff being reported. But remain skeptical that his saying this stuff means he will still feel that way after talking with Arizona, because he could be saying the same stuff to them, and our insiders may not be hearing that side of the conversation.

Nobody is lying to anyone. This is like politics. We won't truly know until he announces Monday. If I am reading the tea leaves, however, I will say I prefer coffee.
