Kofi really spoiled us. He owned the paint - scoring, rebouding, and post defense.

Everyone on the other team knew he owned the paint and it didn't matter. Truly a unicorn. Surprisingly good touch around the basket too --lotta guys still miss when they have good position, but Kofi was super reliable.

/s?

Stylistically, HD is a good comp. But he was All Big10 & All American his freshman season. Big T ain't gonna have that kind of production, largely because we have a good team. He'll be like a 10 & 6 guy who knocks down a shot or two from behind the arc. Which is still great

Doubt he averages 10 and 6. I think he basically splits minutes at the 5 with Morez and 10 & 6 with 20 min/game isn’t likely.

Greg just compared KJ to Luka… thoughts?
I jokingly said a 6’6 white chocolate when I saw one of his highlight videos, but the more I see him reject screens, his crossover really looks like Jason Williams. And he’ll pull the 3s off the dribble in transition, and he’ll drop the flashy dime, and he’ll go a tad crazy every now and then.

If that’s truly not a 6’6 white chocolate, idk what is.

If KJ is 1/2 of the player that Luka is, he'd be an unbelievable get.

Comparing him to Luka, Jason Williams, etc....the board is setting him up to fail. This is our fan forum, so obviously expectations are going to be inflated, but geeze.

JMO, but let's hope that he comes in and is gives a great freshman contribution, which would be great kudos in its own right. To set the expectations bar at first team all conference or any sort of All American discussions is a bit silly.

He obviously has a high ceiling and there's a TON to be excited about with him. Some mock drafts have him being a top 20 pick, yet recruiting services have him outside of the top 35(now that they've ranked international players).

I'm interested to see how he performs playing in some very, very high profile games early on...some on the road.

I think it’s settled then… a little White Chocolate at a Mark-ed Price with a sprinkling of Drazen Petrovic.

PSA: When someone on the board compares an Illini player to a hall of fame player, they are not saying the Illini player will be as good as the hall of fame player, just that they have a similar style of game or will play a similar type of role.

No one here believes Kasparas in his single year of college will be as good as Luka or Jason Williams.

Note to self. Next offseason start an "All Underwood Team" thread. With the incoming talent this year, it'll be interesting to see who in the Underwood era would be considered his best guys.

You dont have to look far from Lithuania for a comparison. Now he is a lefty and plays off-ball more but the similarities are there.
IDK. Until we see KJ tying his shoe, it will be hard to tell.

I like this idea a lot. I really really do.
