Strong academic reputation!!?? KU is a “safety school”.Reading that Kansas has a strong academic reputation, one of the better fits for the BIG.

For a state school west of the Mississippi and east of the Rockies they're certainly in the top 10 academically. That doesn't make them B1G caliber.Reading that Kansas has a strong academic reputation, one of the better fits for the BIG.
Excessive greed ruins many a thing.College athletics used to homespun and have a touch of innocence. Big money, big tech, political corruption all involved now in dirtying up and giving a professional new mean-spirited approach and appearance to it all… it will never again be what I first became a dedicated fan of many years ago. Just speaking for myself.
Maybe they should re-name the SEC conference. I mean it's no longer Southeastern states that belong. Why not re-name them all if there is not gonna be regional boundaries or areas of the country they represent.

Further validating my pointIt's been 31 years since the Big Ten had ten teams.
You need to update your mindset. It’s the southeast of North America, not just the USMaybe they should re-name the SEC conference. I mean it's no longer Southeastern states that belong. Why not re-name them all if there is not gonna be regional boundaries or areas of the country they represent.
Sure, why not snag some schools from Toronto and Mexico CityYou need to update your mindset. It’s the southeast of North America, not just the US
From a revenue standpoint, no teams in our conference are going to leave for a hypothetical. Why chance it?View attachment 11720
Alright this is just plain stupid…
Mizzou has tried before, but are not up to academic snuff.Problem I have with Kansas is that the national media will promote them as the BIG BB school. In reality they will need the BIG more. Illinois will become even more disadvantaged when it comes to recruiting. Kansas will promote it's ties to Chicago, Indy, St Louis etc as a member of the BIG...No thank you.
Bring on Mizzou, Pittsburgh or Iowa St.
It actually does qualify for the bar as does Iowa state education wise...just not for BB players. /sStrong academic reputation!!?? KU is a “safety school”.
Man up, you ninny. We’ll get a chance to win in Allen Fieldhouse every(ish) year.Problem I have with Kansas is that the national media will promote them as the BIG BB school. If you want to be a Blue Blood, one must defeat the Blue Bloods. Often.Problem I have with Kansas is that the national media will promote them as the BIG BB school. Indiana makes more than we do….Interesting. How on earth does Kansas State pull in more money than Cal?
So you’re saying that this decision will not be based on money. Got it.Right, Iowa State fits all categories EXCEPT marketability (or whatever I’m trying to say; it doesn’t add to the B1G market). Someone else said it about Pitt, too. Iowa State and Pitt are both perfect teams, but in the wrong locations. Although, Pitt is even less likely to join IMO given the fact it’s in a conference that’s not going anywhere.
The thing about Iowa State is that it checks off a lot of boxes that the B1G wants to check off when it comes to expanding and adding schools. Too many of you are thinking “teams”. That is not the play here.
Expanding the B1G market is important, but I am fairly confident that it’s not going to be tue final say by any stretch.

25 mil difference⅔ of those are hard passes. What makes you think that Carolina is ready to bolt the ACC? The only way is if the ACC is destabilized. In that case, maybe, but UNC is not coming by itself.
