i've got a 6 hour drive to Minneapolis today for tonight's game versus the twins.
one of the four last ball parks i haven't been to. i wouldn't go otherwise, birds have
me pretty pissed off. my statement is im not spending my money in STL.
Must be the weekend for trips to the MSP metro. I'll be there tonight for my son's soccer game tomorrow morning at the National Sports Center, then we'll be across town in St. Paul for the Minnesota United-Seattle game. The good thing is that game kicks off at 5:30, so we'll be well on the road while the Saturday game is still going on. I'd like to see Target Field, but I'd be too ticked off with the Cardinals to even watch them on the road. I'd need to watch the Twins play someone else.

Sure would be nice if they took some of that money and invested it in good players.

I agree with this

I also wish people would vote with their wallets about the team. The people who continue to spend money on this team are every bit as much of a problem as the DeWitts. They need to figure out something different to do on their summer vacations.

I don't agree with this. Local fanbase loves the local teams. Cardinals, Blues, St Louis City SC, Battlehawks

Every team goes through ups and downs. Few people on here call out the DeWitt family when times are rough weekly/monthly. I don't think it comes down to them caring but them being out of touch. They have let Mo run this organization into mediocrity. Mo got an extension in 2023 to ride out in the sunset through 2025. Hard hitting issue is they should just fire him instead of settling. One of the few things that would get my attention as a local and likely the national fanbase as well.

Side note---This is the time for families on a budget to hit the ballpark. If Cardinals have a good product or weekend games than tickets are higher priced. StubHub has tons of $1-2 tickets plus anyone can bring food/non-alcoholic drinks into the stadium for a game.

Big topic now is bringing sports wagering to Missouri. That will open more revenue for all the professional teams in state. It is approved to be on the November ballot and just saw a lawsuit filed few days ago trying to block it from being placed on the ballot.

THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!

Cardinals win the opener of the 3 game series on the road against the Twins by the score of 6-1..............

Pallante with a solid quality start going 7 innings with only 1 run allowed..........he should stay in the rotation after Matz and Lynn are activated.......
Donovan with his 10th home run .................
Winn 2-4 w/ 2 rbi's...................
Contreras 3-5.........
Nootbaar 2-5 w/2 rbi's

Cardinals first 3 game winning streak since late June................

Pallante had a shaky start with the number of baserunners, but was outstanding! Several bullpen guys were not available, but he gave them 7 great innings.

The home run by Donovan was quite a blast. How high is that right field fence?

I would like to know how Mo was able to convince the DeWitt’s to fire Shildt after cleaning up the defense, the base running, the general sloppyness that the Cardinals had become and, oh by the way, making the post season for three straight years. And then extend Marmol after finishing last for the first in over 30 years. Did they extend Marmol because they were afraid the Dodgers or Yankees or Red Sox etc. were looking to sign him? Come on! These decisions clearly were not performance or market based. It’s just baffling to me. I know we Cardinal fans are spoiled. This team is .500. Not the White Sox. BUT we should be better. Ever since La Russa retired, we have hired only first time managers. Mo’s yes men. Except Shildt (maybe our last George Kissell disciple?) wasn’t Mo’s yes man. He Gone! I have to believe Mo’s ego has clouded his vision. I haven’t seen this many empty seats since the ‘70s. How long will ownership let the bleeding continue? Fire Mo. Hire a GM who isn’t too insecure to hire an experienced manager (Skip?) who has had some success and let him manage.

Shildt was going to be fired regardless of the winning streak during his final season. You can blame Mo all you want but the team had significantly underperformed after Shildt's first season. There's no guarantee they would have made it in 2020 had the changes not been made to the postseason format. They were barely a .500 team before the winning streak and all the streak did was delay when he would have been fired by a few days. The "philosophical differences" reason given for his firing was just an excuse for fans to quibble over.

Not agreeing or disagreeing but Marmol was playing the number game. Pham was 3 for 6 against Richards in his career up to that point with a 6-1 lead. Now 3-7

So the Cards get 9 hits last night, draw 9 walks and steal 4 bases...so how does that equate to only 6 runs? 2-12 with RISP tells the season long story. Goldschmidt 0-3 in those situations.

I hope Shildt wins a world series in San Diego

Great base running again, not to mention clutch strike outs last inning. They said on the radio earlier that Goldie has no sac flys this year.

home run bugaboo rears it's ugly head again against Sonny on the road...............4-0 Twins going to top of 4th.....
