release crawford, armstrong and matz. lets see some young arms.
we know what our mgr., noot, donovan and gorman can do. lets see
vic scott, walker, siani (if healthy), Baker everyday and see if we
have a retool or a total strip and rebuild.

Too late on Gorman. why does the ownership just ignore his poor performance?
This spring Seattle offered one of their young starters for him and we turned it down.
After this year, we couldn't get anything reasonable for him.

Noot cant stay healthy, Grey is ok, he's just never been a #1 starter always a two or
three. Arenado and Helsley probably gets a few players. We're stuck with the rest.
You have to have a trade partner. Teams want youth, they dont trade their youth for
underperforming 30 somethings.

remember Whitey's winter meeting cleaning? i am envious of those days. oh, and you
forgot to get us a manager who takes responsibility instead of blaming his players.

235ish is approximately the league average...Goldie deserves some latitude but that's about over...agree with mostly the rest...
we shouldn't ever expect 235ish from goldie or any middle of the line up guy. hear me Gorman and Nootbaar.

After reading todays articles I wonder how many here realize that Gorman has only 10 more K's this year than Goldschmidt........Gorman has 148 K's and Goldie is at 138.................

food for thought as to whether the Cardinals need to bring back a 37 year old that is in a steep decline in bat speed and power production.......Gorman has age on his side as to changing his hitting approach , but Goldie is seeing his stats bottom out the last 2 years after his fantastic MVP season........it's been one of the baffling declines that I can remember from MVP to the bottom of performance stats.......................

Again , I wish Goldschmidt well as to the rest of his career , but signing him again will be counter productive to the future makeup of the Cardinals roster construction...................move on is my opinion and JMHO..........................

Agree Pru, you and I have been Cardinal fans for a long, long time and have seen great eras and doldrums. Doldrums occur when there are repeated mistakes with player evaluations and decisions. And we are seeing that in spades right now. Bringing Goldy back is a stupid decision borne more from the FO obsession with their Red Jacket brigade than actually putting a winning team on the field. The fix for this is to bring in a new POBO who only cares about winning, Mo needs to go.

The best thing Goldy could do right now is follow Gibby's lead and walk off the field and retire mid season.

I really didn't think this was going to happen after we got hot in May. Sad about it. Hindsight, we should've sold at the deadline. This could set us back another year or so. Should've know that there was no way our pitching would hold up. Our offense was what is was, that was never going to get better. After 200 ab's or so, you kind of are what you are for the season.

The fiasco that is the development of Jordan Walker since the beginning of last year is that the FO hasn't instilled any confidence in him by letting him work his way out of his funk to start this season........they have stuck with Goldie throughout this season even though it has been apparent he has lost a step with bat speed and power punch when he swings........i don't know or haven't researched what his average velo off the bat when he swings , but it looks like he has lost some vision or depth perception by how many times he completely misjudges the trajectory of a pitch and feebly swings at pitches way off the plate...........I played organized baseball for many years and know how hard it is to hit a round ball with a round bat , but if they had stuck with Walker as much as they have with other player's then maybe he would be a force now in the lineup.......Now they bring him up as a PLATOON player ??
WTF is that ??????....How long will this lack of faith in him stunt his growth ??????.................Look at O'Niell Cruz or Elly De La Cruz or many others .........make a commitment and stick with it.........it's not hard to understand why last year the Cardinals finished last and probably last again this year........

I agree with the assessment of Nootbaar.......he has skills , but has he reached a regular player status ?????......I don't think so......I agree they should have kept him and traded Carlson , but I would be playing Walker above Nootbaar right now........

My roster for next year right now would be :

1B...Burleson
2B...Gorman
SS...Winn
3B...Arenado
LF...Donovan
CF...Siani
RF...Walker
C ....Contreras & Pag'es
DH or Utility....Pham (if resigned) , Baker , Nootbaar , Scott II

Trades or FA signing's would alter this roster of mine , but given the past player evaluations would it contain more bad trades like Alcantara , Gallen , Arozarena , Garcia and the list goes on and on........

The Cardinals had a great run of consecutive years at .500 or better.........now they are looking at finishing in last place for 2 years in a row for the first time since the late 1950's..........think about that , then shake your head as I do about the fall from being competitive that we have seen the last 2 years.......

Good ole Mike Schildt engineered a 17 game winning streak and then got fired for speaking his mind about the direction of roster construction............I think Mo knows he needs to hang it up this off season and let the cardinals bring in an outside guy that will do what's necessary to right the ship......I don't know if this Bloom dude is the answer , but it's clear MO has shot his wad in the GM or POBO role..........Just the humble opines of a know nothing hippie with too much time to waste thinking about everything Cardinals.......

Quick rant. Apparently the Dodgers are pitching a leftie tonight, because Alec Burleson is not starting. This happened in Cincy last Monday night. Furthermore, Pedro Pages with his stellar 2 homeruns and 15 RBIs is starting. Catch Contreras. Pham to DH. And Burleson in left. I know it does not match up with the analytics.

Goldie with a tater to tie the game 2-2 going to top of the 3rd...........Cardinals halfway to total runs scored in 3 games at Cincy........

How many batting coaches has this team gone through since the last World championship? Sometimes it is on the players?
Part of the responsibility of the coach is to figure out what is wrong. I get tired of watching swings on pitches a foot outside or inside, in the dirt, anywhere but in the strike zone. When they played the Royals, the Royals were leaders of fewest missed swings.
