I have been working too hard in my garden to even realize they played this afternoon. Should have known because of the Monday game in a 4 game series.

Yeah it was a bit odd them having a series like this nowadays. They weren't the only ones either. Mets and Pirates did something similar in Pittsburgh this weekend too.

Oli has really really improved in how to manage the pitching staff.....keeping the BP fresh will pay off immensely in the latter stages of the season....
Will be interesting how Edman and Nootbar fit into the lineup going forward....
Siani's defense this year has been Gold Glove worthy consideration.....

I swore off the team around Mother's Day. Just checking in here and reading the standings. Apparently, the strategy worked. Ironically, same thing happened with the Illini baseball team. I stopped following, and they won a bunch of games and the conference.
We can't watch the games on tv. They give up runs when we watch. After switching channels they comeback. Doesn't work all the time but often enough.

A little surprised about the doubleheader. I believe both teams are off Thursday and the all star break right around the corner. Probably because of the CBA
I am sure she is correct. Still, the fact of the matter is what I have witnessed. Not just this year but over many seasons. Many teams. Many sports. *Sigh*And my wife doesn't believe that I (we) have this kind of power over the results of games.
Sometimes I go ahead and watch. They lose. It is very very rare when a team, any team pulls out the comeback. Perhaps Game 6, 2011 was the last time. Even then I would switch channels and come back a few minutes later.

Cardinals also have a day night doubleheader on Saturday vs. the Cubs. Cardinals might be in more of a crunch with their bullpen, even with the day off Thursday.
