THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donovan with a game winning catch robbing a Reds home run and the Cardinals win 1-0..............Donovan , IMHO , has been the Cardinals MVP for the non pitching side of the team this season so far.......
Helsley win his 29th straight save...........
Burleson with a great catch in right field,,,,,,His D is improving by leaps and bounds...............
Pallante with 5 + shutout innings.........hopefully he's settling down and be the #5 starter for the rest of the season............

The lone run scored on a sac fly by Burleson to the shortstop.........lol.............You don't see that every day ,,,,,

Great win Cardinals...........

How is this offense acceptable? 2 hits? 4 last night with 1 run. 5 walks on Thursday and multiple chances to score but no hits with risp, this has to change.

My opinion, with our proven 3 giving no where near star production or protection and Gorman being a poor man’s Joey Gallo, our margin for error offensively is razor thin. Burly, Winn, and Donny are nice and all, but at the end of the day and at this point of their careers in trying to find who they are, these guys don’t have the capacity to carry a club offensively while the rest are struggling. Burly definitely has a chance to be that guy down the road, BD and MW probably never will, but will always be guys who do their job at a high level and they do currently.

The pressure that is being put on our pitching staff is insane. They are performing admirably given the circumstances, but that rubber will be meeting the road shortly if our offense doesn’t come together. Again in my opinion, teams like the Reds are a horrible matchup for us. They are so fast and love to run, our guys already have to be laser focused on hitters, the run game is just that much more pressure on pitchers.

If it was me, I’d reach out and try to sign Bauer ASAP and make a move for some offense at the deadline. Bauer would be cheap for the rest of the season and I guarantee you the sharks will be circling soon.

Last year at the midway point, the Cardinals were 34-47. Today the Cardinals are hovering around .500. This is a big improvement. However, they are not at the point where they are a World Series contender, in my opinion. This is going to take some time.

There are a lot better options out there than him. And the allegations are just the tip of the iceberg with him if you know about some of his off-the-field stuff.
You mean to tell me we can’t take a risk on a former cy young winner who is still hitting 99? Is he different, sure. Why are we ok with Aroldis still playing after he choked his girl and shot up his garage. Why is Ozuna on a roster and we are ok with it?
He isn’t playing because he has called out cheating and busts on Manfred. It is complete collusion as to why he isn’t playing.

Or maybe teams don't want the headache that Bauer will bring.

This past offseason, the Cardinals had said they wanted to improve the clubhouse culture. Bauer would do the exact opposite.
I don’t think you or I know that he would do that, but I will tell you what cures clubhouse culture…winning.
But if we’re throwing out blanket statements about guys, I’d argue that Nado and Goldy don’t do anything positively or negatively for clubhouse culture. By all accounts they are quiet as church mice. Lead by example from your best only goes so far.

THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cardinals split the series with the Reds as they win today 2-0.........

Lance Lynn with a great 6 innings , along with recording his 1,000th strikeout wearing the Cardinals uniform............

Burleson and Winn with the rbi's for the Redbirds............................
Pa'ges with an absolutely nothing 3 big hits today........way to go big boy !!!!!!!!!
Cardinals BP comes through again with 3 innings of shutdown pitching...........Kittredge , Romero and Helsley with his 30th consecutive save................

Cardinals are off tomorrow before playing the Pirates Tuesday evening on the road in a 3 game series........

LET'S GO CARDINALS............................

Helsley with his 30th save of the season today. Ties a Cardinals record for most saves pre-All Star break, previously set by Lee Smith back in 1993.

With still a couple more weeks before the All-Star break, he has plenty of time to break the record. And all this after blowing a save in the opening series of the season in L.A.

All I know is that I'd much prefer names like Tyler Anderson, Garrett Crochet, or even Cal Quantrill before I'd even look at Bauer.

He's doing well ...dont take this wrong but he sure gets his money's worth on a lot of his saves...
