I typically find Bernie's comments interesting. I read his posts very often.
My post is abbreviated. For the full story

Bernie’s Redbird Review

Read his full commentary on the website.

This could all be wrong. The Front Office might be committed to winning. It simply does not appear as if they are.
They have tried to make trades. Not many of them have worked out.
They have brought in FA pitching. Again it has not worked out. If it is not Mo's fault it is the fault of his scouting department, which means, IT'S HIS FAULT for not having the right people.
Poor messaging is a huge factor. The message that has been given to fans year after year is they want to win 90 games, make the playoffs and see what happens. So to speak.
Loading up with high priced FAs isn't necessarily the answer but nickel and diming for years doesn't give fans warm and fuzzy feelings. They should accept that is human nature instead instead of implying that only fairweather fans complain.
It's not that I dislike Oli. It's simply that I dislike the Cardinals getting managers that are learning on the job. If it is the younger guys who are the ones that are willing to go with the newer analytics then find someone that has some kind of a track record of success.
I simply don't see the downtown St Louis area safety as a factor at all. If the Cardinals had an exciting team that was on pace to win 100 games the stadium and Ball Park Village would be overflowing with fans.
They don’t care about no shows because they already have their money! But they are losing concession revenue!

Just a random mid 4th thought, and I'm a bigger fan of his at 2nd base, but we need Edman back. Siani has done his best, but it just isn't it. Contreas can't get back here fast enough either. Add those bats and the lineup just gets that much longer. We just have to hang in.

THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cardinals beat the Pirates 4-2 and even up this series...................

Sonny Gray with 7 strong innings......got off to a rough start allowing the first 2 batters to reach base , but shut that down with 3 straight K's............had 9 K's for the game .....we needed him to have a strong outing tonight and escape the cellar.......

Arenado had a strong game on defense and at the plate........

I'm still concerned about Goldschmidt.......25 rbi's in 66 games is confounding , but his bat speed is slower and pitch selection to swing at is a big concern........

Donovan is a professional hitter and a great defensive player no matter where you play him.......

Mitch Keller is a stud and we need to bring our A game tomorrow at 1:15 pm........

LET'S GO CARDINALS.......................

100%

Contreras back, Edman back and have some production from Walker/Nootbaar sometime this season. Big chunk of production missing

Speaking of Edman I haven't heard much on him lately. Still recovering/rehabbing from the wrist surgery but I haven't heard of him being anywhere close to being at the point of going out on rehab to Memphis or anything close to that. Anybody got any info?

He just started taking batting practice at Busch and has been cleared to hit from both sides. Don't know an eta on his return.

Tommy Edman (wrist surgery): Switch-hitter is taking batting practice from both sides of the plate, and he participated batting practice on the field with teammates for the first time Tuesday. Edman's workout is similar to how his teammates prepare for games with coach-pitch batting practice, and he will advance from these workouts to pitching machine and higher velocities. Internally, the Cardinals are expecting the return of their center fielder around the All-Star break. John Mozeliak, the team's president of baseball operations, told attendees of the Cardinals' annual "Blogger Day" that Edman is expected to return before the end of this month. Updated June 11

THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!

Cardinals win the game 4-3 and win the series........put some distance between us and last place for now.......Need to go into wrigley and put a can of whoop arse on them unlovable cubbies........................

Cardinals bullpen was spot on after King gave up the base hit to tie the game......................

Roycroft ,Liberatore , Fernandez and Kittredge......................great game Cardinals...................

Goldie with a 2 run tater and Donovan's bigger TATER for the win.....................

I was watching the game but reading about TSJ's NOT GUILTY verdict..................Great day for Cardinals and Illini fans......................

IT REALLY REALLY IS..........................................

All 3 games this weekend at Wrigley are day games with Sunday's game being a Noon CT game airing exclusively on Roku. This is the 2nd time the Cardinals will be on there with the previous time being last month against the Red Sox.

When Edman and Nootbar come back, center field and left field will be solidified. But here is some perspective from years past. From 2009-2016 Matt Holliday's RBI stats were as follows;
2009: 105 Split between St. louis and Oakland
2010: 103
2011: 75
2012: 102
2013: 94
2014: 90
2015: 35
2016: 35
Halliday averaged 80 RBIs over this time period even with the last 2 years of 35.
Tommy Edman's career high RBI total is 57 and Lars Nootbar's career high is 46. We are not seeing the revival of murderers row when they return.

Even with how bad this season has been, the Cards are tied for the last wildcard spot. But still, 5 teams within 1.5 games, including 3 in the Central division.

Agree, but Noot-Edman much improved over current options.Cards have needed RH hitting center fielder all year.Siani 4 for 40 against lefties,Carlson needs to go IMO.

So you have the Cubs starter go out because of injury and now you have to face Hendricks.

Is it just me or is it absolutely insane that we have both Pages and Herrera in the line up?

Hendricks has over 8 ERA and they can’t even get a hit off him or just hit the ball hard.
