Bucky missed 23 of 25 3PTA today and is coming off their worst offensive performance of the B10 season. What is the prescription to cure their offensive aisles?

Play vs. the Illinois defense.

I expect a 7 point methodical and efficient Bucky win.

Rutgers isn't terrible. They are just lacking B10 talent. But, their coaching is keeping them in these games like today or like their win over Nebraska. Illinois will be in a dogfight with Rutgers. Steve Pikiell has got these kids believing in rebounding and playing defense.

Groce has had awful records against Michigan and Ohio St. and beat both, so maybe in this topsy-turvy year, maybe Wisconsin owes us 1. I can think of more odd things that have happened like Illinois going into the Breslin Center and beating Michigan St(I think that was two seasons ago)

Your friend probably remembers all those times that our good Illinois teams came up to Madison and beat the Badgers lol.

You know that's what I try to mention but I guess it stems from the Kam Taylor/Alando Tucker era for them. They've dominated us since like '06. Sucks even more because obviously Kaminsky was an Illinois kid but same goes for Tucker (Lyons I believe).

I don't see this as a winnable game, so we have a chance I guess.:)

Wiscy plays defense. We'd have to be firing on all cylinders and I can't imagine that happening. The good news is our annual January fiasco is almost over.

Minnesota - W
@ Northwestern - L
Penn St - W
@ Iowa - L
Northwestern - W
@ Nebraska - L
Michigan St - L
@ Rutgers - L

Win the Wednesday game in the BTT, lose on Thursday. No postseason invite. Groce gone the following Monday.

I have 0 faith in this team to win away from SFC, and Wisconsin / Michigan State will be tough goes at home.

Was it Bo who rubbed Groce the wrong way after a loss in the past? I remember some coach taking a bit of extra time with Groce and Groce was not pleased at all.

I think a more likely path is an sudden expansion of the tourney to 128 teams.

There's no way Illinois would get past Purdue anyways. I'm looking to see how they perform against Wisky but there's no way they would ever get past Purdue. I don't see them winning the B10 tourney.

But, JW will not fire him until they have been eliminated. It doesn't seem like his style.

Thanks for sharing. I remember years ago when a Wisconsin fan was telling me, during the McCamey years, how Illinois always frustrated him. Obviously, those days are long gone.

I'd rather have the Weber crew than Groce and crew. Hands down. I don't want either, but I think anyone saying Groce is better than Weber as a coach is clearly going against the facts.

I'm looking forward to what JW will do and hope he can handle the change in a way that maximizes our chances at keeping recruits.

Give me Lucas-Hill-Nichols-Black-Morgan/Finke

Morgan would be our 3rd best rebounder. And I like the idea of Lucas running a fast break with Kipper right and Malcolm left. You guys do remember what a fast break is, right? And we would have some legitimate length and athleticism on the court which Wisconsin tends to struggle with.

This is a game where we need to get points in the paint. Happ isn't a good rim defender. And defensively we have different guys to put on Happ and Hayes. If Groce gets it right and makes the right adjustments then we can win.

I think everyone here agrees that Lucas, JCL, Hill, Nichols, Black, Finke, and Morgan are our best 7. But they can't play 40 minutes.

Either Whitman has an amazing doppelgänger or he was sitting in front of me in section 216 on Wednesday. Got up several times for long periods of time, but it looked to be him with his wife and newborn.

JW was at Penn State game with his family. JW was at Iowa game, got the check from the Rebounders at half time). So not sure was TC was talking about.
