R J was not shy to attack the basket at all ......his bucket from the mid corner was great ........His time will come hopefully this season to show us all that he can produce in the B1G on a consistent level.......I really think he will have the best career #'s of the 3 freshman .....JMHO

Robbie Hummel has been singing RJ's praises each time he sees him play. I am hopeful that will come to fruition!

RJ needs to take one look at Ayo or Jaden Ivey's body and go directly to Fletch:

Whats the Trent update?? I'm sure they did additional testing even though he came back in

We obviously need to win this home game. I personally think this is a game we need Curbelo to get his confidence back. I'd like to see him play 25-30 minutes, and score 20, 8 rebounds, and 8 assist. We are going to need him in the NCAA tourney when our kick out 3 pointers aren't falling.
We all want AC back and healthy. To get those assists he needs to pass the ball. He is amazing at getting shots off around the hoop but when the ball is in his hand it seems like the rest of the team is watching / waiting for him to do his magic.

Last night most of the time when he went on his drives the defenders stayed on the shooters. The 2 or 3 times he did hit them for open 3s they missed them. When he drives one on one he has the advantage. He is very crafty at finding some type of good shot for him or somebody else. I'll take that all day.

Agree- the one time AC threw the ball away in the corner DMW patted his chest like it was his fault & he knew he was supposed to go to the corner for the pass & didnt. Everyone has to be ready when he is on the court to potentially get the ball.

Two different styles of offensive play. Must be tough to incorporate both as players. Filling the corners is one thing, but we certainly don't want to see our other players just standing around.

I want to believe. I’m afraid it’ll be a slug fest where we pull away late, but I sincerely hope we pound them. It’d feel good to take out this frustration and get back on track before a rough stretch.
This is the longest break between games in a month. Good time to refresh the legs and maybe integrate Goode, RJ, and Belo even more.

Wouldn't be surprised to see RJ be the first guy of the bench in this one. He was looking good.
Let's not forget Podz was instrumental in that NW road win.

I would hope to see us take out our frustrations on the Wildkittens, who now think they can beat us because the last round was so close. Let's give them a set of noogies, purple nurples, atomic wedgies, nose twists, jock snaps, toe stomps, wrist burns, wet willies, chunky swirlies, and top it all off by taping them to their bus seats with orange and blue tape to remember the Illini on their long, humiliating, sad ride home. Oh yeah, and order them to stuff themselves in their own lockers when they get back to Evanston.

story on front page of IL says he expects to play against NW
Trent is a warrior. Wrecked shoulder, previous knee injury (same one? - idk), and recent hip pointer he just shrugged off.

Trent had a similar TO where he threw to the corner but Damonte was still up the sideline a bit.

This should be a repeat of the Wisconsin game with us being more dominating given the similar team makeups of Wisc and NW. Bigs on the block are not Northwestern's strengths. The only potential matchup issue could be Nance who did have 21 in the first meeting. Figure out how to shut him down and this shouldn't be a struggle.........but "should" and reality are sometimes not in sync.

I'm kinda glad we get a little bit of a break while the rest of the conference has some good matchups. There will be 9 games tipping off in the B10 between now and our game with NU. A chance for the standings to shake themselves out a little bit. Michigan and Ohio State each have a couple, as does Rutgers, teams just below us in the standings.

I would like to see it where the Top 4 break off from everyone else. Us, Wisconsin, Purdue, and either Michigan State or Ohio State. As much as I want to win the conference, I just as much want that double bye in the B10 tournament.
