NBA Draft

LaVine is one of the most untradeable contracts in the league at the moment.

No one is going to trade premium draft capital for him or Vuc, leaving the Bulls stuck with two major-usage players on huge salaries who are both stone-cold losers.

The only option is to lean into it. Their 2025 pick is top 10 protected in a great draft, otherwise it's going to San Antonio.

Let DeRozan walk, sign Patrick Williams for peanuts, draft a big, and let LaVine and Vuc put up their numbers on what will be an awful team, do your best to move them for whatever future assets you can get at the deadline, and you'll have a mix of future assets and cap space (no more Lonzo!) that give you the wiggle room and hope for the future that is currently moribund in Chicago.
How do you define “peanuts”?

I mean he stinks so if anyone gives him an offer sheet of any size they should let him walk, but his stock has to be in the toilet.

Bad contract years brought Coby and Ayo on the cheap, might as well take PWill for the same. A semi-useful cheap young asset who will have the opportunity to play a lot and maybe take a step forward.

Let's just hope he doesn't get drafted by the Pistons. I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

(Well, maybe the Douglas Co. prosecutor...)
