Billy Donovan has always wanted the BULLS to get out and run. Imagine TSJ joining AYO, Josh Giddey and Coby White in whatever 3 man rotation Billy has out on the Court taking off down court as much as possible. Brad taught AYO and TSJ well in that regard in his hurry up offense and this would make the BULLS so much more fun to watch as these young players push the pace and race down the court. Make it happen Arturas and Marc!!!Would absolutely LOVE to see TSJ alongside Ayo. Although the Bulls organization right now is so putrid that I'd almost rather he go to a more experienced team like CLE, BOS, LAL, MN or even the hated Knicks.
But as a lifer fan, he would make the garbage Bulls team MUCH MORE pleasurable to watch next year. If anything, TSJ is experienced and ready to contribute NOW!! So hopefully CHI recognizes this, and doesn't try to settle on an unproven 19 YO.
Sorry, but I am a Lakers-hater. Grew up a huge Bulls fan and the Lakers and Pistons were "no-no's" to cheer for.Nothing wrong with seeing an Illini in a Lakers jersey. Just saying.
It’s now two nights for two rounds. Another stupid move for television fill. The NBA 2nd Round does not equal the NFL 2nd/3rd round in value or excitement. I’d guess, blindly, that 2/3 of the NBA 2nd round picks last less than two years in the league, in minimal roles.Wait...is the draft tonight and not tomorrow night??? Hasn't it always been on the Thursday, the last week in June? Or so it's been that way in the past. Maybe I'm reading this completely wrong?
Spot on. The bulls are guard/wing heavy at the moment. He would probably be a better fit with some contending teams picking in the 20’s, and your cynicism is completely warranted! My cynicism about the Bulls front office makes me less excited about this possibility than I probably should be.
A lot of his other apparent suitors are great teams with championship potential.
The Bulls entire history is a study in mediocrity, other than a stretch where they were lucky enough to have had the opportunity to draft the greatest player ever. If you take away any season in which Jordan didn't play, they are 1688-1926 as a franchise. My cynicism about the Bulls front office makes me less excited about this possibility than I probably should be.

It’s ’s a “weird trick” to draft a talented and beloved local kid to boost ticket sales and revenue? Some might call that a smart business decision.Yeah, this would kind of suck for him, if playing in the NBA for your hometown team is a thing that can suck.
I'm sure he actually did impress in a workout. I'm even more sure the Bulls are viewing this as another weird trick to keep ticket sales and interest up without doing anything to meaningfully compete.
I can see the fit particularly if they are trading Zach this offseason and just getting picks in return, then TSJ would given them a player that is ready to play now on the wing
LaVine is one of the most untradeable contracts in the league at the moment.I can see the fit particularly if they are trading Zach this offseason and just getting picks in return, then TSJ would given them a player that is ready to play now on the wing

No one is going to trade premium draft capital for him or Vuc, leaving the Bulls stuck with two major-usage players on huge salaries who are both stone-cold losers.
The only option is to lean into it. Their 2025 pick is top 10 protected in a great draft, otherwise it's going to San Antonio.
Let DeRozan walk, sign Patrick Williams for peanuts, draft a big, and let LaVine and Vuc put up their numbers on what will be an awful team, do your best to move them for whatever future assets you can get at the deadline, and you'll have a mix of future assets and cap space (no more Lonzo!) that give you the wiggle room and hope for the future that is currently moribund in Chicago.
Taking that sentence and chopping the last 6 words off of it materially changes what the OP was sayingIt’s ’s a “weird trick” to draft a talented and beloved local kid to boost ticket sales and revenue? Some might call that a smart business decision.

If you can, do it.You could essentially give LaVine away
If you believe the guys that cover the NBA there is plenty of trade interest in LaVine- Agree they won’t get much in return likely just some salary dumps and a future pick- but they need to rebuild and the Bulls seems committed to a major rebuild this offseason- trading LaVine would be the most important move for a rebuildLaVine is one of the most untradeable contracts in the league at the moment.
Fans hate this one weird trick!Yeah, this would kind of suck for him, if playing in the NBA for your hometown team is a thing that can suck.

I don't think the Bulls are capable of a rebuild. If you believe the guys that cover the NBA there is plenty of trade interest in LaVine- Agree they won’t get much in return likely just some salary dumps and a future pick- but they need to rebuild and the Bulls seems committed to a major rebuild this offseason- trading LaVine would be the most important move for a rebuild
If I am not mistaken Ayo and Shannon were in the same grade in Chicago. Terrence is about 6 months younger, but, of course, Terrence played 5 years in high school and 5 year in college. Did they play together on the Mac Irvin Fire?Billy Donovan has always wanted the BULLS to get out and run. There is actually no overlap. The NBA first round is tonight and second round tomorrow night. NHL Draft from the Sphere Las Vegas is Friday night and Saturday.NHL draft is tomorrow night and the NBA draft is tonight......doubt 2 pro leagues would have their drafts on the same night.............

I agree. The truth is the Bulls were incredibly lucky when winning the Rose draft lottery (which led to a couple of good seasons); but of course, that went crashing down with his knee injuries. Take away the Jordan dynasty in 1990s, and the Bulls are one of the most mediocre franchises around.I don't think the Bulls are capable of a rebuild.
You are not mistaken. If I am not mistaken Ayo and Shannon were in the same grade in Chicago.
