This may be the slowest recruiting thread I have ever seen. I guess actually getting high profile recruits does calm everyone down. I am sure that I will be proved wrong soon enough. But until then, I guess sit back and enjoy success and wait for season to start. Maybe predictions for all-conference players would be something to talk about. I will say that Riley and KJ will easily be all-conference and likely Boswell. I think Ty has a good shot too if he proves that he can shoot at all. His motor will get him recognition and the stats will pile up if he can shoot at a decent clip. Ivisic is a dark horse.

Rez will make the all frosh team

Obviously, we're killing it, recruiting wise. If we land Ahrens, which I expect, I sincerely hope that doesn't mean we're out on Gores (Ahrens re-classing will help). Both are development guys, but I think their games are more complementary than redundant (Ahrens in more of Coleman-esque role and Gores a PF in training). Gores has a VG physique, much better that Happ at this stage. Seems like exactly the type of kid to take in a development role,
will Gores accept a "developmental" role? if so, is that a 1 year redshirt then off to the NIL money in the sky? i guess that's the world we live in.

He's a good player and he'd really serve us well in a supporting role. Not trying to throw shade at your comment. This is more an issue with the Tweet from Foran. Why ruin the Tweet by saying he's an ”NBA prospect?” He's the 126t-130th ranked prospect in his class. He isn't being recruited by many tier 1 programs other than us. That doesn't mean we don't need good, hard working, dedicated players like Ahrens on our team.
if he's 6-10 then there are at least three 7-4 guys on the court

Seemed like people were saying he was a UConn lock for quite a while...might not be I guess then. Just curious...

not too long ago it was said on here, on rivals, piper said it as well...that he'll be visiting. Why does it seem like we aren't in the mix here? Even for a visit?
Did you not watch the Illini from 06-19? We only have a shot at 5* talent because these kids were either swimming around, or in diapers, the last time we were consistently relevant.

Did you not follow recruiting for the last three months? Just wondering why we aren't in the mix for a possible visit after there were articles and sources saying we'll get him on campus. That's all man...

Not Illini related, but a good reminder of how well Brad and the Illini staff have done with recruiting comparably is to look at UNC ... they needed a big to replace Bacot, and they got 6'8" Ven-Allen Lubin from Vandy, and today landed this 6'7 bench guy from Georgia Tech to play the post next year (no wonder Coleman didn't want to go there). They had the worst case scenario that we were worried about earlier this offseason actually happen to them, and their fans are freaking out. They'd be playing the Dainja Zone 30 mins a game at this point, if they could have landed him.

From one of their fans on Reddit:
"Also it appears likely UNC is going to miss on every 2025 recruit they had offered before June, including several guys they had been recruiting for more than a year. There isn't a single 5 star recruit in the class that any recruiting analyst thinks UNC will get. Malachi Moreno and Jasper Johnson are the latest top recruits UNC appears to have missed on."

We've got something special going with Brad and this staff, and the timing couldn't be better with all the changes in the college athletics landscape.

Hear me out now…James Browns table might be set sooner than later, I was surprised he was a take at UNC with his stock tanking that much.
