Does this put pressure on Riley to commit ?
What generally happens with this is someone who has been in a position to share information most are not privy to will tell us what they know. Someone will ask them how they should feel about the recruit in question. A generous "insider" will post their own feelings or how they are being told the staff feels. The poster then takes this as gospel the recruit is locked up and Illinois-bound. Then, if the recruit does not end up at Illinois, the sharer is then blamed and/or chastised for "getting everyone's hopes up."You are likely correct, but I also am onboard with any fishing expedition for more info. We’re a greedy bunch
I'm sure I spend way more time on this board than I should. I say keep on asking questions it's a message board, and there's no obligation to respond if we don't want to. Sometimes this stuff gets protected like it's national secrets. You are likely correct, but I also am onboard with any fishing expedition for more info. We’re a greedy bunch

Wow, shades of a college age Kevin Durant…but springier and probably better in the open court.
Nice way to avoid price escalation by having two choicesWe wouldn’t get both … It’s one or the other for 2024 …
Agree. It might be more about trust and what had been communicated to you when you signed up. Like, we will only add one more and that will be the 12th man, but then you see them recruited an ace...A whole lot of college basketball players, including former Fighting Illini, very clearly transfer in response to what they see as inadequate playing time. Characterizing that as being "scared" doesn't seem right.
Have to say, it really bothered me. Never imagined this opportunity coming. Reminds me of the player who Bruce Weber's wife delivered but went to another school. Can't remember the player at the moment...How'd he get to Purdue the first time around with all these Illinois connections?
Brad's specialty. Send him over the Brad's BootcampObviously not an insider by any means but it seems like Purdue fans aren’t super upset about losing Kanon. Instagram comments (mind you INSTAGRAM COMMENTS) are full of people saying he was toxic and not a hard worker. Obviously Brad an Co do their research but I don’t think we should all hop on the Kanon train quite yet.
That would be Bruce Weber's child. Unless a paternity test shows otherwiseHave to say, it really bothered me. Never imagined this opportunity coming. Reminds me of the player who Bruce Weber's wife delivered but went to another school. Can't remember the player at the moment...
I'm in the Cubs Fan For Life category as well. I'll always have 2016 to fall back on as my go to.How are you all on this thread and don't know rule number 1: DON'T HAVE ANY EXPECTATIONS.
Then you won't be disappointed. #Cubsfanforlyfe
Sorry, that's not in my DNA.How are you all on this thread and don't know rule number 1: DON'T HAVE ANY EXPECTATIONS.

The ol' "we didn't want him anyway because he's soft" excuse. Seen that one before.Obviously not an insider by any means but it seems like Purdue fans aren’t super upset about losing Kanon. Instagram comments (mind you INSTAGRAM COMMENTS) are full of people saying he was toxic and not a hard worker. Reminds me of a certain ex-Purdue commit on our current roster....Obviously not an insider by any means but it seems like Purdue fans aren’t super upset about losing Kanon. Obviously Brad an Co do their research but I don’t think we should all hop on the Kanon train quite yet.
This is true.....if all of those options didn't get shared within the same 24 hours. Most notably, a brand new "target".The information that has been able to be shared up to this point has been shared and you can/should decide for what expectations you should set for yourself.
This sounds not-so-vaguely familiar to what happens when Illinois loses a commit.Obviously not an insider by any means but it seems like Purdue fans aren’t super upset about losing Kanon. 2 guys who have never played college basketball in your big 4. Scary proposition
they don't even call him on his cellphone ................................they really really don't.......Ain’t no one looking to hang with Drake right now.
It sounds like every fan base when they lose a commit. And sometimes it's actually true. This sounds not-so-vaguely familiar to what happens when Illinois loses a commit.
His Overtime Elite coach was just announced as a BYU assistant - that likely has more to do with this release than his interest in us, I'm sure he could get more NIL and playing time from BYU
