Would I take him ? In a heartbeat … He solves our problems …

Would Brad take him ? I don’t think he would based off what I’ve gathered … But he’s pondering it …
If it turns out that Brad doesn't try to land this young man on our team, and we scuffle heavily due to poor floor generalship once again, wasting away Hawkins and Shannon's final year on our team with mediocre performances on the court, I can imagine a number of our boosters will begin to heavily question whether he's the man for the job.

Yeah but that is not a toxic teammate. He was goofy but competitive and wanted to win. I never saw him quit but he did things that would make me wonder what he was thinking
If i were any of the guys on the court i would be pissed. Standing in the corner pointing with your hands on your knees doesnt show you want to win.

I think we are far better shape this year with our incoming transfers and recruits.

Also, Morez cant get here quick enough. Dudes a beast!

Will Gill be a 5 star when it’s all said and done?

c'mon. he's good, maybe really good, but there are legit questions about how good (high major impact player good?). I don't blame his dad for holding him out from AAU ball, but at some point we're going to need to see him play against the cream. one thing's for sure though, his trajectory has been excellent. KG is all about developing his son the right way, and that's extremely laudable

I'd take him today. He looked like the best player on the court in his high school semi final game against Simeon. He's got good size, the athleticism is there, and he's got a pretty well rounded game for only a Soph. I didn't see his 3rd place game, but it looks like he did about as well there too.

Kid's going to be a player. I'd expect top 50-75, but that's as of right now. But he's only a Soph. Will he continue to grow, will he continue to improve?

With those ball skills, if he had his dad's hands, quickness, and hang time; there'd be good chance he'd be a 5 star.

Do you watch the NBA? There's a guy doing that on 85% of the offensive sets. At least stand in the corner. Perhaps put hands on knees or act nonchalant until it's time to cut. It's how they space the floor. There's nothing unusual about that, really.. Sure, he could have just taken 15 seconds to put his shoe back on, but if he were kneeling down putting on a shoe while the other team stole the ball and ran past him, everyone would be grilling him for that, too.

if they had ratings back in the day, Gill would have been a 3 star. yet another illustration that a kid's HS rating is merely a snapshot and isn't necessarily indicative of what's going to transpire going forward. Spoon may be the best example of this.

I do watch the NBA, thanks for that comment. Its completely different than college.

I guess my point was it looked like he didnt care to put the shoe back on or be active in the play by standing in the corner. Also one of our player could have slowed up once they saw he was putting his shoe on and let him get back in the play. If he tried to put his shoe on and get back in the play it wouldnt have been brought up here.

Lots of IFs!!

IF it turns out... IF we scuffle badly... IF it is due to poor generalship... IF we waste final years and IF it is due to mediocre performances on the court...

THEN you can IMAGINE... HEAVILY... question WHETHER ...

SPECULATE MUCH??? Such hand-wringing! Several weeks ago, we were DOOMED because some guard from an inferior conference went elsewhere. The season was lost...coach is on a hot seat! Now we think that Kerr is the linch-pin to a successful season

How about this??? Maybe Kerr doesn't even enter the portal!

There are tons of fish in the sea!!!!

My take on the situation? If we "lose" a specific recruit, our position should be "NEXT!!!!" I trust the coach to field a well-balanced team made up of players who fit our scheme.

If we don't go after THIS one, or THAT one, we'll go after the OTHER one.

Relax! Take a DEEP breath! We will be FINE!

Ok coach, sure he's pretty good at basketball, but you didn't mention anything about his painting ability. Can he pull off a Bob Ross scene, can he?

Bob Ross Art GIF
I watched the incoming 3* Iowa kid Owen Freeman a few times this year. This kid looks better overall.

Mayer was very inconsistent and didn't live up to his potential, but, Christ on a cracker, he's the scapegoat for a lot of fans. FWLIW, I think there's plenty of blame to go around.

Really interested to see which '24s are prioritized. Also, does anyone else feel that Fears may reclass to '24?

“Christ on a cracker” gets automatic “like”
