Can someone correct me? I thought you could only transfer one time without the 1 year red shirt. So wouldn't Miller have to sit out a year if he came back? Maybe I'm completely wrong about that.

Does the fact Miller did not play this year impact the application of the one time transfer rule?

They were never on bad terms
Brad seemed to love him. I’m sure he wasn’t happy about the transfer, but he loved the kind of player Adam was. If I had to choose between 3 years of AM and … well…. I’m not going to go there, but I believe this years team would be better with him on it.

It’s a positive revelation if the coaches would want to have him back. But previous baggage (familial depends to the staff) makes it a non-starter.

Here is what I said about Adam when he decided to transfer:

For you to call me a “faker” seems a bit much, but alright. Sorry for disrupting your board experience with a goofy personality.

In the meantime, Peoria Illini ‘til I die.

I will take a Peoria player any day of the week. Miller comes with baggage sure, but 1st 3 he hits and all will be forgiven.

I don't think it would have been better. At illinois he shot .340 3 pt pct.. That is below this years stats for TF, AP, Goode, Melendez, Grandison, and Williams shot .338. I think some posters have a Peoria, Chicago, Morgan Park infatuation with some players. He had a whole season of opportunity, and did not play to his hype. There will be better options in the portal, let alone the incoming freshmen. Missed too many wide open 3's for me.

Peoria bias aside, there’s more to basketball than 3’s. Miller played awesome defense and made great basketball plays for us last season.

Players do practice and can improve on occasion. I am sure AM has been putting in the work while recovering to reach his goal of the NBA.

Adam would have fit in perfectly on this years squad even with Plummer.

Plummer probably comes off the bench which reduces his output a bit but we become significantly better defensively and Adam was still a solid shooter.
I don’t think you’re wrong. I just don’t think Plummer transfers AND Trent stays if both believe Miller is the starting 2. And remember, Curbelo was planned to be the starting 1.

Kofi, Trent, and RJ were at the state finals tonight. Ty Rodgers was sitting with them too. Could be more of the team there, but they weren't on camera. I don't think there are any players on any of the teams we are recruiting, they there supporting a future walkon teammate? Would be really cool for Paxton if that's the reason.

He averaged 2.5 2 pt attempts, and 5 three pt attempts a game, in 25.5 minutes a game, 31 games. He took a 2 pt shot once every ten minutes he was on the court. Even Plummer gets 3.7 two point attempts in 30 minutes a game. I would rather give those minutes to the freshmen guards, and see the portal in a month. Jmho, I think we can do better.

Let me get this straight. We are talking about a kid transferring back to the school he transferred away from like it’s even remotely possible? That is absurd, even for Loyalty standards. C’mon folks.
Is it? This is the same site that thought Bill Self may come back to a school he ditched. About the same level of "whaaaaaaaaaaaat?-ness."

I have no idea how well AM would have shot it this year but Ayo shot 35% as a freshman, 30% as a sophomore, 39% as a junior, and is now shooting nearly 40% in the NBA. Most players don't cap out at their freshman numbers.

On a scale of Jimmy Whitt returning to Arkansas to Brad Underwood returning to kansas state right now, i don't it's that inconceivable for miller to return; however i'm not certain we're even the best option for what he wants to do right now. I greatly appreciated his on ball defense and intensity and i think he's been a lot more missed in certain respects this year than what people realize, but it just might be the case of the ex girlfriend that you still have love for but other extrinsic factors doesn't mean you two should work it out.

The best H.S. team I ever saw too…hands down! Fugg-it-a-bout-it! I mean really, who has not one but two 7 foot dudes on a high school team?? Then of course…Jamie Brandon (LSU) Johnnie Selvie (UConn)….wow!

This is really neither here nor there…but I remember Selvie showed up at Quincy with one of those house arrest ankle bracelets…don’t know anything about the back story of it…I only remember it because it was 1989, I was kid, and I’d never seen one before. Selvie and Brandon were awesome players. Amazing. !!

Anyways, Chicago King and Sonny Cox were taking on Jerry Legget’s last good
team at Quincy. AND…THAT place WAS packed, stuffy and electric!! TheBlue Devils had names like Wemhoener, Banta, and I think a kid named Johnson?) It was more like an All-Adams County team really…Banta transferred from Payton-Seymour and Johnson?…from Camp-Point Central. Quincy was no fluke that year…good enough to reach 4th in AA state. What a game

Had not seen a better game before or since…
You would have if you were a little older like me and seen the 1981 Quincy Blue Devils team.

Personally, I’m putting no stock in us actually getting Miller, if he even enters the portal. It would be a great surprise and a truly bizarre story for him to make his comeback here.

You make fair points that we might get someone better via the portal. And we should be a destination spot.

But if Miller does not leave this last offseason, Plummer might not have come here. Both players (and freshmen) would have had smaller roles.
