I've mentioned this before. It's as much a money race anymore. Although I am confused about ICON once players can be paid in-house. I plan to increase my I-Fund contribution from "not even registering" to "still won't quite raise an eyebrow". But every bit helps including ticket sales.

Put up or shut up for athletic programs and their fans.

It's funny, especially in NIL world the two revenue sport head coaches are a bit like Formula 1 teammates. Working for a common goal in one sense but competitors in another sense.

There is tension between football and basketball for NIL cash at every major college athletic program now, and claims to the contrary are just spin.

Hirdes? He was at Michigan State game this weekend. Maybe MSU didn't make an offer and he's ready to wrap things up?
Cleveland? He was at Minnesota game last weekend and had good quotes. I don't think he was at Illinois game this past weekend.
Starr seems like a long-shot at best.
Graham is a possibility but that would be startling

Don't know anything about this young man, but I gotta say it'd be cool to see my last name in an Illini jersey

He didn't start the year at Maine South, but I think he's playing now. I'm sure someone around here has seen if he's the real deal.

That said, he's not up there with Jonas Williams from Lincoln-Way East (Oregon commit). I wish we were in on him, but I assume the NIL $ and Oregon/Bama offers were a bit more than he could pass up.

I don't wanna be a downer, but 12th-13th is pretty close to last in the old B1G, we just happened to expand to 18 teams so our ranking looks better.
Technically right, but I would say that probably 3 of the 4 teams that joined are most likely above us. So that means we probably jumped 5 spots which is good for last year being disappointing.

But it's not like we added MAC and Sun Belt schools. Washington just played for a natty, Oregon has been great for a while, USC has tradition and I would assume money. UCLA brings a recognizable name and market, even though that's probably it. Idk how much our NIL has gone up but I wouldn't poo-poo the improvement.
