Would be a massive get. He's got to look at the roster at see very little in the way of him playing, but at the same time, I'm hoping our lack of talent (and subsequent production) doesn't scare him away thinking we won't use him effectively

In-season performances don't really lead to immediate, surprising commitments like they possibly did 15+ years ago. Now it just increases interest or opens doors for people that may not have been previously interested.

Did coach have his Iowa tattoo removed? Not a good look wearing shorts with that still on his leg.

not a football recruiting expert, but I'm liking many of these downstate 3 stars we're targeting. a good chunk of them may be better than their rating. let's face it, the ratings services can't handle sheer numbers. sure, they do a pretty good job of ID-ing the top kids, but at some point it's a crapshoot. most of these downstate kids don't have the visibility that metro kids have. anyway, it seems like staff is identifying kids who project as good BIG players. very glad the MAC-level recruiting is in the rear view mirror.
