I was just thinking the same thing!

I talk myself into the Bears and Illini being better than they will be before every season and am inevitably disappointed. But if they can just retool the defense enough to be mediocre, we are sure gonna score some points!

Most of the catches in his highlight vid are in really tight coverage... that he makes look really easy. He plays with such confidence. Really excited to see what he can do this season.

I really hope that Luke takes a big leap forward in his ability to make the quick reads. Paddock came in at the end last year and showed what this offense can be if your throws are quick and you're aggressive enough to trust your receivers to get to the ball.

Zook was a clown. once recruiting dropped off after 2009 he was done. the 2008-2011 teams all should havw won 9+ games

Agree with the getting the ball out quick part. IMO that's the biggest reason he was able to do what he did. Didn't get sacked, holding penalties were down, etc...

Luke needs to improve at that...confident he will...

But he was our clown! And if he'd gotten the right A/C's his story at Illinois might not have ended the way it did..... BUT, what's your over/under on how many years to our next Rose Bowl??? And I say that knowing full well that today Rose Bowl is not what it was.....

It's not just the contested catches but some of those routes are NASTY. I was watching a highlight reel of some of the best routes of the NFL season and his looked very similar in some of those clips.

The Franklin smoke has been there, but we finally get the commitment. What an addition for the WR room! Elevates this group to another level. If Altmyer makes an expected leap, and the OL improves from last year, we have the backs, and this addition makes our offense much more formidable. Can’t be excited enough about the potential of the O with the ZF addition!
