I mean, it's good to win, but that wasn't THE Michigan. That team was basically Michigan State.
I'm replying to this so this presser shows up twice in this thread.
we’ve had our share of QB’s just like himJack Tuttle!
I mean, field rushes are just outpourings of joy by a group of likeminded people. We could all use more of that these days!Field rush rules
1. Remember in 1998, our school rushed in the field against MTSU. We cannot diss many schools or any generation of Illini on this issue
2. Why should we care anyway. Only snobs like scUM and NU idiot alum Mike Wilbon care.
Yep, I was there! If I recall correctly, we had kids hanging from the goalposts too.1. Remember in 1998, our school rushed in the field against MTSU.
Agreed! I’m never gonna complain about too much enthusiasm for Illini football.I mean, field rushes are just outpourings of joy by a group of likeminded people. We could all use more of that these days!
Happy birthday brother!!!Tomorrow is my 82nd birthday. What a wonderful present!
I think that conversion attempt was supposed to be to the RB in the flat, same play we’ve successfully run several times in similar situations. But the outside defender picked up the RB and Donovan had to look elsewhere.we’ve had our share of QB’s just like him
wow , it feels good having Luke taking snaps for us
I still don’t understand having a cold Leary come in to throw for 2 , even tho it worked
Well I stuck to the ground pushing the post thereYep, I was there! If I recall correctly, we had kids hanging from the goalposts too.
Seeing Arkin on the old timey fake punt video made me laugh wondering what the defenders would have been thinking 100 years ago with that large man rumbling down the field with the ball. You're right, and you've provided a nice prompt fir some appreciation of our TE! He's been phenomenal.
I mean it was the 100th Anniversary celebration of the opening of Memorial Stadium and it was a win against the same team they beat then, so they can only celebrate this once every…….Agreed! I’m never gonna complain about too much enthusiasm for Illini football.
Couldn’t care less what people think of field rushes on this board or elsewhere. Keep talking - hope we have many many more. Not too long ago we couldn’t fill half the stadium, now we have people crying about field rushes. Get over yourselves.Agreed! I’m never gonna complain about too much enthusiasm for Illini football.
it all ended great , I just don’t understand why in that circumstance .I think that conversion attempt was supposed to be to the RB in the flat, same play we’ve successfully run several times in similar situations. But the outside defender picked up the RB and Donovan had to look elsewhere.
Such a smooth throw under the circumstances!
Sure, but let's also appreciate being 5-1, which would have been highly improbable before the season. Just as easily could have lost to Purdue, Nebraska and KansasNot normally a what if kind of guy but 6 minutes left at Happy Valley, we're driving and in Penn State territory. Next play off sides. Play after interception. What if instead we go down, tie it up and win in OT (which we seem to do quite well)? The we beat ScUM today, making it 4 ranked teams beaten. Were we 6 minutes from being top 5 in this week's poll?
We already did that a week ago. Now, 6-1!Sure, but let's also appreciate being 5-1
I"m sorry, but this is really ridiculous. This was a huge game as the 100th anniversary. It's in a different category.Agree. We rushed the field on a team that we were ranked higher than. This speaks volumes about the last two decades.
Thing is that it made math sense, it made it where two touchdowns and extra point could only tie the game, not win it.it all ended great , I just don’t understand why in that circumstance .
and chasing points unless it makes math sense and time left is of the essence is dumb
Agree - couldn’t care less about online posts where people now cry about rushing too much. Hope they do it again! Of course it speaks volumes - we have been beyond awful for many many years.I"m sorry, but this is really ridiculous. This was a huge game as the 100th anniversary. It's in a different category.
