29-34 at Arkansas

ARKANSAS FOOTBALL (Yuck - I didn't like doing this)
2008 - 2011 | 34-17 (67%) - Petrino
2012 - 2012 | 4-12 (33%) - Smith
2013 - 2017 | 29-34 (46%) - Bielema
2018 - 2019 | 4-18 (18%) - Morris
2020 - 2023 | 23-25 (48%) - Pittman

Since joining the SEC, Arkansas is 198-190-2 (51%). Technically, Bielema slightly underperformed their average, but not by much.
Historically, he is overperforming at Illinois (48%) where Illinois is 44% all-time and and 37% since 2000 (98-164).

If Bielema gets us to .500 during his tenure, that will be huge and set Illinois up for sustained success.

He inherited a dumpster fire and made them respectable by year 2. Wheels fell off in his last year, evidently due to some personal issues which have been addressed

I don't have a lot of time to do a lot of pre-season digging etc, but my two questions going into the season are:

1) Will our defense be better
2) How confident are we about the offensive line?

It seems we have some real offensive weapons, but can the line do it's job to make a strong running game which opens up the passing game.

We’d have to show some significant improvement in our secondary to do that though. Not saying we can’t this year, but last year’s unit would struggle.

Edit: Hardest part is that this may be the only game I get to go to. I’ll be there in O&B nonetheless.

Are you coming to Eugene? Do you know the area?

Yep, one of my kids just graduated there and my daughter still goes there, plus my wife (an IU grad), wants to watch us lose. So pulling off the win would be pretty special for me lol.

Edit: and for the record they could have gotten into any other B1G school but you just can’t beat in state tuition (combined with academic scholarships).

Rusk was supposed to be that top pass catching TE that we haven't had in years. Any TE transfers still available?

Boyer, you're table is ready. I've always felt Boyer is not a plodder, now is his chance to prove it
