On the Rothstein podcast, Underwood mentioned and praised every single player......except Boswell. Seemed a bit conspicuous to me, but maybe I just missed it?

Agreed! Just wonder if the insiders had heard anything about Boswell not progressing as thought, because I remember that Brad had really, really wanted Boswell both out of HS and the portal.

My favorite part about Illini fans is they talk about Brads style every year like he hasn’t been here for 7 years lol. He is who he is, he’s not gonna change for you, a coach, a player, a parent, a handler. Almost every player that left wishes they stayed. Players love him because he’s tough on them but has a relationship with them and loves them. You know who told Tre White to come here because Brads the HC right?

I know he's always hard-charging behind the scenes, but his demeanor in the actual games has changed a TON during his time here.

I credit BU with the emotional intelligence to know where to set the Brad-O-Meter for different rosters and situations.

How much of that also comes from having rosters full of players who have bought in and run what he wants so he doesn't have to scream his head off at them? I do agree he's tempered himself, but it's a lot easier to do when you have the right people with you.
