Some consternation on the Illinois staff, and it's not just about money, contracts.
Thanks for sharing. Anything else you can add? Is it about playing time for specific recruits? Scheme? Too many good coaches fighting to get seen?

Seemed like we had a pretty cohesive staff last season. Just surprising now.

Not sure of the ins and outs, but that shouldn't be happening two months before first tip. This is April and May type stuff. On a team that has an entirely new roster, not having the coaching staff on the same page isn't ok. Not sure what kids he was responsible for bringing in, but losing any sort of cohesiveness at this point, again, not ok. We shall see.

Yes, a coach is leaving ... I have known for a little while and am honestly surprised people hadn't picked up on it, especially when the Labor Day team outing pictures went on social media and somebody was clearly missing ...

Morez is not leaving ...

Brad has a plan ... We've got money ... We are a freaking elite program ... Nothing stops this train ...

Let's go beat Kansas ...

Hope this isn't going to take a hit at our 2027 persuits...

I ain't worried ... Personally, I'd rather go get an X&O Specialist for this spot, and to get even more specific ... I want Yaklich ... Always have, and I have voiced it here before ... This is the time to make it happen ...

Geoff, O, and Brad can handle the bulk of the recruiting ...

And specifically for 2027 ... I ain't worried bout that either ...

Roles and recruiting. Each assistant has their guys on the recruiting trail. Some get prioritized and some don't.

I do think money is the biggest thing. It cures all.

I'd say on my list of things to worry about, 2027 recruiting would be about the lowest. Look at Fears and understand that recruiting at this point has so many moving pieces, you just can't bank on much. by 2027 we could have so many other factors in play, it's ridiculous.

This is a big year for us. last year we had a lot of experience, and it played out well. This year, the roster formation is lot closer to the disappointing season two years ago. Quite frankly, a coach that can help a team gel well may be the most critical piece in the next four to five years.

For those who are curious about names ... I have been given the 5 below ... Internal promotion is also on the table ...

Rod Clark, Stephen Gentry, Luke Yaklich, Ulric Maligi, and Luke Barnwell ...
Wasn't there some friction between Gentry and O?

Clark would be great but would make that game interesting to say the least.

Yaklich seems solid but why is he without a job
