Illini Basketball 2024-2025

Luther Head was a highly talented player with skills and athleticism that translated into a 7-year NBA career. Comparing Ben and Luther is like comparing apples to rocket ships.
Well yeah but I'm not expecting this years team to go 37-2 and be the best team in the country.

Malcolm Hill was a 17-18 PPG scorer.

It's time for Keaton Kutcher to shine!

If he proves to be an effective flopper…I’m gonna start calling him Buster.

Malcolm Hill had 2 years of B1G Basketball experience by the time he became that level of a scorer for us. Ben has a single injury impeded season in the MVC. He was at Huntington University before that. The comparison is a bit closer, but still far from the mark.

Talent is a metric based on potential. Also, most of our talent is young and/or inexperienced at the college level.

Humrichous - 5th year senior
Boswell - 3rd year, 30mpg on top 10 team
Rodgers - 3rd year, starter on E8 team
White - 3rd year, was starter both Fr & So years
Booth - 2nd year, started for ND as freshman
DGL - 2nd year
Davis - 2nd year
Jakucionis - already been playing at level above CBB
Ivisic - already been playing at level above CBB

We only have 2 "freshman", Johnson & Riley.

I think we're experienced enough to be very competitive. Do you agree with the bottom half of conference predictions? I don't, just wondering where you stand on this.

Edey might have been more dominant, but Kofi looked better doing it!
Honestly it's wild to me that Kofi could have still played in college last year(honestly should have stayed in college if he had better advisors - could have made a fortune in NIL). Can you imagine what a 24 year old Kofi would have looked like against college kids? and he would have been one of the few players strong enough to guard Edey or Clingan.

I recall a freshman Edey giving Kofi a lot of trouble on both ends. I think Clinton he could have banged a bit more, but Edey would have still frustrated him I think.
