Watched this and it occurred to me that Curbelo being injured was like an Act of God or something fated to be. This team is now Trent Frazier's, when its identity would have been a little confused has Andre not gotten hurt. The team taking on Trent's workhorse identity is a great thing.
Though he is probably very disappointed, I am guessing Andre is OK with this and happy for Trent. Andre knows he will get playing time, will make the team stronger, and get to contribute to the team winning a lot of games. In fact, the team will probably be a better team for the adversity. Switching back and forth between guarding the arc, then chasing Curbelo around the paint is going to be really difficult for opposing teams. Think this wildly changing playing style during games is a major plus for a team looking to go deep in the tourney. Also thinking it is going to work well tomorrow.

Not sure about Auburn that low despite the fact that I just gagged for saying it. They look really well rounded. I think we are up there if we stay healthy and have time to grow together.

Why not. I think Katz likes us to make a deep run. I'm sure Katz knew we were going to lose again before the tournament.
#2 losing to #4 isn't relatively shocking. It ain't like we just lost to Nebraska.
I just think we need to cheer up a little bit. Our season didn't end tonight. We lost to a elite basketball team on their home court. All of the goals are still in front of us for the remainder of the season.
However, that will (hopefully) only resolve the standings at the end of the next 7 games.
It will not solve dealing with Purdue's O the next tie we meet PU

I think we matchup better against many more teams than Purdue. Illinois doesn't press much at all, but i can see teams in the tournament bothering Purdue with a press(maybe Marquette?!) because they have weak point guard play, and if they are hot from 3, then taking Purdue down could definitely happen.
But Brad has always preached guarding the 3 pt line and only giving up easy 2's, which will be a problem for many of these mid majors that like to shoot a lot of 3's against Illinois. And almost nobody in the country can handle Kofi that ive seen outside of Edey/purdue and Koloko at Arizona. So as long as we dont run into one of those two teams or a surprise mid major Big man like Krutwig, then i think our boys are going to go real far, atleast Elite 8, so Katz might not be way off here
IMO....we should be practicing some full court press...some zone.....and defense to change it up. Also some backcuts...movement is justice. We have a few days to implement. Why can't we come out full court press and surprise a team early...and we have the dogs Frazier and Damonte and others. Agree with the teams matching up.^
