Chicago Cubs 2024

Yes, but the main thing is that they have retained the Crosstown Cup.

Me too. at my age, if it’s not fun, i’m not doing it.
I have watched a total of 9 innings this year. I normally have other things going on so Cubs games (or other sports for that matter) aren't a priority.

I am a proud generational Sox fan. I’ve seen the good (a few years) and the bad (LOTS of years). But my fandom remains constant as it is rooted in things beyond just their performance on the field.

BUT... I am an honest fan. I make no excuses for the Sox when they deserve criticism. And this season, they deserve LOTS of criticism.

But most of that comes down to one thing: The White Sox did not even try to put a Major League ballclub on the field this year. They came into the season with a couple of legit pros and then mostly minor-league players. And as the season goes on, what have the Sox done? Bring in MORE minor league players.

So the 2024 White Sox are a Major League franchise but composed of mostly minor-league talent. But still charging major-league prices for everything. And demanding a new taxpayer-assisted stadium.

And what is the game-plan for the rest of the Sox season? Sell off some of the few major-league talents still left on the roster. And lose lots more games.

The North Side ball club is... what the North Side ball club is. They put just enough talent on the field to keep them within shouting range of the playoffs... but nothing overwhelming. And they remain what they have been for a long time – a Chicago tourist attraction.

So who is suffering more? Sox fans or North Side fans?

I think it’s both. We just suffer in different ways. We’ve always had a (somewhat) friendly rivalry and we view things from different angles of the City.

But we all share one thing together: Frustration.

The old saying is that ‘There’s no crying in baseball!’.

But we all might say to that... OH YEAH? SAYS WHO?

As an IL resident but a lifelong fan of that team down south there's not much joy to be had so far in 2024. None of the 3 are providing much in the way of viewing pleasure.

In this series coming up against the Rays, our starting pitchers has a lower ERA than the rays starting pitchers for each game. Hoping we can take advantage here and get at least 2 games in this series. I’m hoping a turning point can start here.

Hope so, but it always seems that the Cubs hitters bring out the best in opposing pitchers.

I’ll be at the Thursday night game.

Yeah, looks pretty bad. But going to have a good time regardless, meeting up with some old friends who live in Florida. Hanging for the weekend.
In my eyes, a bad time at the ballpark beats a good time in many other places.

Hope you enjoy!!

10 Hits, 1 Walk, 1 Reached on Error.
1 of the hits was a HR. No DP's.
So.......11 Baserunners got them one run.
That's what I call clutch hitting.
Still leading going into bottom of 9th.
This team is pitiful. Except for starting pitching, how can the ENTIRE year not be playing up to the back of their baseball card ? Name me one guy who is.

Tauchman maybe? He's hitting .255 but he's been a spot player over his career so his performance is probably to be expected.
