Getting pumped for Thursday's game.

Tracey Anderson / Kevin Washington......?
Yep, should have beaten Ridgeway but Browning for Ridgeway scored 45 points in the game. Anderson was a freshman and only started because our 6-4 forward Gary Park hurt his knee in football earlier in the year.

Does anyone have a clip of the play? At the time, I thought it was just a finger to the eye or even a contact issue.
Sorry for the poor quality, Iphone capture of TV replay. I think the officials got the call right. Now I'm off to wash my hands out with soap for even typing that.

I had thought the same thing. I thoroughly it looked like a finger nicked his cornea. I clearly didn’t see it correctly.

From rewatching, it doesn't appear that the elbow was swung as anything other than normal body motion. BBV's face just happened to be in the way . . .

Might be right, but it almost looks like he brought that left elbow through with a little extra effort. Hard to call a flagrant based on that view though.

OSU doesn't start anyone over 6'8 right (Kofi Time!!)? And their two major threats will have DaMonte and Trent on them? I think this might be a wash... OSU 59, ILL 76

Is OSU wearing their white or gray uniforms or will they wear red like that one time Wisconsin did and we couldn’t tell the teams apart.
I'd guess that we go with our white '79 script unis and they wear road red (coincidentally, they have script throwback jerseys that date exactly to '79 as well.)

Disappointed I'll be missing this one in person. I have missed way too many this year but will be glued to the tv come start time.... work gets in the way sometimes

Go Illini. Would like to see Kofi do what he did to Wisc. Bury himself low in the lane and go to work. I bet they will double team him when the ball goes into him. Got to pass it out instead of forcing it in. I would venture to say DMW guy will leave him to double down. He should be able to dominate Key or Young.

I love photos from this era of basketball. It looks like they're playing in a hollowed-out JCPenney. I can smell the ashtrays and polyester.
That old Iowa Field House was something else. I was there for a football game in 2003 and took a look. It's still standing. Same with Jennison Field House @ MSU, where the Spartans played through the '80s, which was and remains primarily an indoor track arena. As if the Illini played basketball in the Armory:

Speaking of ashtrays and polyester, here are some photos from the final game in Iowa Field House in 1982 v. Minnesota, for the Big Ten title. With Lute Olson at the helm, Iowa shanked it in 3OT and the Gophers won. A little Randy Breuer / Trent Tucker Gopher action in the second one. I love how the men in the courtside seats are wearing jackets and ties, and sitting with their hands folded on their laps, as if they're at the symphony. (Courtesy of SI)
