Good game overall. Penn State is really talented. Our guys fought hard but were a little out matched.

My only gripe is I think the offensive play calling could have been better. I think we’ve had our most success this year when we’ve passed to set up the run. Tonight for some reason we tried to do the opposite. And as agressive as PSU was on D, I thought we could have run some more play action, RPO, misdirection etc to take advantage of their aggression.

Not sure it would have mattered in the end as we just couldn’t stop them on the ground, but I think offensive play calling could have been better.

Before the season started I would have been thrilled with 4-1 and splitting our first 2 road games. And we seemed to come out of tonight pretty healthy. Let’s heal up and work on some things during the bye, see if we can win 4 or 5 of our last 7.

We're a good football team. 4-1, knocking off two ranked teams, and we just gave the #9 team in the country all they could handle. Right now, 8 wins feels like the floor and 10 feels like the ceiling. As an Illini football fan, this is a heck of a position to be in. I'm genuinely excited to see how the rest of the season plays out.

Thank you Bret Bielema for getting us in position to play in games like this. Frustrating night in many ways but I have seen so much worse in my 40 years following the Illini religously.

We aren't that far away.

A lot of big games still to come. Beat Purdue, beat Michigan. Let's go.
54 years for me so I was "lucky" enough to experience the Mole-Face seasons

If anything was clear tonight … We need to recruit some DUDES …

We’ve got some things to really clean up …

You wanna beat a top 10 team … You’re not going to do it like that …

Get our guys taken care of physically and mentally and get ready to beat the absolute snot out of PU …

No Buffalo Trace tonight boys & girls … But I know I haven’t had my last of the year … That is for sure …

We looked mostly competent against an obviously better team. Our run plays are still unimaginative and we abandoned our passing game until we had to pass.

If we get a touchdown and go up 14-7 into half when it's 1st and 3, it's a completely different game. Instead we miss a field goal and luckily didn't give up any points before half.

A lot of mental mistakes and unforced errors, which you can't have in a game like this and also you are going to have because of the environment.

We need to trust Luke to be the guy. Our run schemes are generally garbage. Overall a good game, they played hard and were in it until the end.

Proud of Illini. But OL needs work. Protect that QB.and open holes for running backs. That is your mission. And give

I expect to win … Every game … We as a fanbase have to expect to win … Every game …

I know Bret does … I know Josh does …
Nothing to be ashamed about losing to that team. They are elite and we hung with them for pretty much the whole game.

This is really all UK's fault. Everyone on Game Day picked Ole Miss - Howard even joked about why they were picking such a one sided matchup - and there is only room for one unanimous upset per week.

I think our run play calling is a function of our poor run blocking. Seems like we try to be too cute with little forward pitches or delayed handoffs 7 yards deep trying to fool somebody. Either way, the line has got to be better than they were tonight regardless if you are going against a top 10 D line or not.
