Illinois vs Michigan, Saturday, October 19th, 2:30pm CT, CBS

Husker fan here, checking in.

Glad you guys pulled it out vs Purdue and kept your good season alive! :)

I for one will be rooting quite strongly for you against the cheaters to the north. You've got 2 back to back tough games, but obviously @Oregon will probably the toughest one of the season.

But first....down with Michigan!

We had a super sloppy win against Rutgers but it didn't help we had 40+ MPH winds. Our defense finally showed up a bit more like we expected (they weren't bad all year, but we expected better).

I know you guys have Rutgers in Nov. While I don't think they're a bad team they're also not a great team. They do have a really good RB though (Monangai) who averages well over 100 a game. He started out gashing us pretty good in the first quarter (I think like 70 yards on 10 carries-ish) but then we shut him down the rest of the game.

Their offensive line was just ok and we got to Kaliakmanis (transfer QB from Minnesota) and he wasn't super impressive. Definitely possible to shut that offense down.

Their defense was decent, but Raiola had a terrible game with the wind. 2-9 in the 2nd half IIRC. I think if we played them under normal conditions we'd fare much butter.

As for Nebraska...as I said before you played us...our kicking game is atrocious and somehow it's gotten worse.

I think we matchup pretty well against Indiana but their offense seems pretty good (though they haven't played even a decent defense yet), so that will be interesting to see. We come in as 7pt dogs in Bloomington for the Big Noon kickoff. Should be fun, hopefully we can pull it off and get back in the top 25 (before we play @tOSU and hope to keep it close haha).

GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND!

We will trade you an excellent backup kicker for a solid interior defensive lineman.

Yeah I’m obviously the most pumped about the massive game we have … but I’ll be cheering VERY hard for the Huskers at 11:00!
Hah, I think I'm with you guys on that one. I guess we really need them to lose this game because if they win, we could be looking at a 11-1 Indiana team in the playoff, and we just can't let that happen. I will say though, that I do kind of appreciate Indiana stealing all the Cinderella B1G media hype from us so we can play with a bit of a chip on our shoulder.

Any insiders with knowledge on Jordan Anderson's position on the depth chart? Did the injury derail his ability to a greater extent than expected? It seems like there was a lot of excitement when we received his commitment at the time and he was dominant in high school (I know it doesn't always translate). Is he just not able to show enough to get some of AL's carries? He's as big as Faegin and seems built for the B10. It just seems like that room is a bit thinner than we initially anticipated coming into the season if he's not able to contribute.

I'll apologize if I missed the discussion about "Seventh-year journeyman Jack Tuttle is the planned starter for Saturday's game at No. 22 Illinois (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS), the 24th-ranked Wolverines' latest hope to resuscitate their struggling offense. Head coach Sherrone Moore confirmed to The Ann Arbor News/ MLive on Monday...."

I'm not sure how to react to this.

Without Feagan last week we ‘ran’ the ball with those short little passes to someone from the backfield. The key to this game as many have said is slowing down, not stopping, their running game. Offensively I think we need to be more aggressive in the passing game. Right now that is our strength. Protect and FREE Luke.

McCray is playing much better this year. I hope he gets more playing time. He is also a very good receiver.

"Fans are encouraged to get to their seats by 2 p.m. CT to catch a special pregame game ball presentation with Illini legends, a flyover, and air raid siren sounder Howard Griffith"

I'll be there! I'm planning on pregaming the special pregame presentation. Come game time, I'll be lit AF (y)

I don’t want to hear any of this, we saw what Purdue did with a backup QB.
There was a lot of unknown about Ryan Browne but he ended up looking like a capable passer (not just because our defense completely stopped defending in the 2nd half) when Purdue let him sling it. All 3 Michigan QBs have tape and should be limited in what they can do. Stack the box.

Ugh stats weren't updated. Originally I said Tuttle hasn't played a snap but he has played some. About the same amount as Browne prior to the game last week overall.

I'm not optimistic. Purdue ran from a lot of their standard alignments, the way Michigan operates us might force us out of base Nickel.
