This is the point that Robert is trying to address with his views on fan support. Poor attendance is driving less than optimal start times. When more fans start showing up the start times will get better.
So it’s a chicken and egg situation? I’m in it much more for entertainment than for program support. Just being honest about that. Start time matters.

Close to 3 hr from here, so 2:30 times are best. Leave around 8, tailgate, go to the game. Don't drink after halftime. Leave after game, home by 10.

I'm handicapped now and will ad getting info from the website on handicapped attendance arrangements is not good to say the least.

Fan attendance does not matter for start times. The product on the field and the amount of people willing to watch it on TV is what dictates start times.

Attendance does not make Fox money. People watching the game at home with commercials makes them money.

it’s entertainment for 99.5% of us

program support is for those elite income folks .

on TV , the minute a game is no longer entertaining me (for whatever reason ) , I stop watching.

Agree, some feel that fans owe it to the team to show up. I see it as quite the opposite, you owe it to me to put a product on the field I want to spend a lot of money to see.

There is no seat in the house even close to as good as watching at home. You can be on the 50 yard line, perfect amount of rows back, but at home, my view is always right on the action. I get replays, I get slow mo, I don't have to wait in line for a disgusting bathroom, or pay a ridiculous amount for a beer or snacks.

So if you want me to get up, drive to Champaign and then spend hundreds of my dollars, you are going to need to create an atmosphere that I want to be a part of, and that really starts with winning, and winning a lot.

This is the reason BB was hired. He didn't come to CU to win participation trophies or moral victories and so far it looks good. We have a real coach who can at least be competitive.

play old time hard nose football, dont beat yourselves with turnovers and stupid penalties, win at least 6 games and people will turn out in droves

its worked for Iowa and Wiscy fo most of the past r 30 years

So I'm seeing something like:

44 ILLINI
13 Panthers

We cover the 28-30 points. My confidence is 100% due to having Bielema at the helm.
I kind of see it the opposite. BB doesn't seem to do much more than he has to do to win these games. He'll keep it vanilla as long as possible. If Illinois can just steamroll EIU, they'll beat the spread. But I think EIU will do enough and is good enough to at least keep from being steamrolled via the run.

I’ve got mobility issues myself. SFC is not bad for parking but you need to get there super early for basketball games. Football is another story.

Probably partly explains why I go to many more hoops games than football ones.

So basically we should all go to the game but turn our tvs on before we leave to drive the ratings up 😂

IMO, nothing beats a pre/post game tailgate on a crisp autumn afternoon. It's worth the expense, even if thte team isn't doing too well.

Who's ready for the new walk-through crew!? I wonder what day it will be posted with the Thursday game time. Anyone know?
