Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread

I live in Chicago and my buddy would do a taco crawl every year on West Town. Found plenty of good Mexican food in that neighborhood... But so many good spots all over Chicago. I am definitely spoiled and never think about la Bamba for food... Just the fun that led to going to la Bamba.

That being said, I've heard San Diego and lot of the places near the border are another level... I'm excited to find out
Living in San Diego, there are soooo many delicious hole-in-the-wall mexican food joints it is crazy, plus some solid upscale Mexican restaurants as well. Happy to share recommendations based on location from what I know (I live in North Central San Diego, just in from Torrey Pines / Del Mar)

I am retired and living in New Orleans. Place is a giant melting pot and has restaurants representing nearly every ethnicity from cheap dives to five star dining where you can drop a few hundred for two. I ate at one of them and it was great... but way above my normal price point. Can also get fresh seafood direct from the gulf for under ten bucks. Plenty of Mexican, plus lots of places featuring most of the Central American countries. But none of them seem as good as the best from college days. My favorite spot not really a food stop, but a bar with live music. Anyone remember Chances R ? specially when the worlds greatest cover band was there, Dr Bop and the Headliners featuring the White Raven? Early 70s. I am kind of old.

Loved bacchanal, Lil dizzys Cafe, & the joint, when I was down in New Orleans! Not Mexican but great places?

Went to New Orleans to watch the Illini in the Sugar Bowl, and then for a second time for an Illini friend’s son’s wedding. The food was fabulous at places like Brennan’s. I, too, loved Chances R and Dr Bop. Watching the White Raven “fly” down from the balcony was memorable as were listening to REO and the Guild in the early 70’s. I worked at Second Chance and was lucky enough to see Head East numerous times before they became famous playing for maybe 25 people on Sunday nights…Fun memories and fun times…

One of the best football seasons and BB season starts next week so this must be a glitch in the Matrix. This is like June in the offseason talk.

Is this our Loyalty Ole Miss exhibition?
