The name fits.You rang?
Right by what remains of La Bamba. It's like a Twilight Zone of 80s bests. Edit: @Gunner22 beat me to it.

They also recently changed their fries. They are no longer fresh cut with skin on.Well, the vibe dropped dramatically in my opinion when they expanded.
In the 80s the burgers were great. I wonder now if it's about others catching up.
Stopped in at their strip mall site several years ago. The guy who served us said the brothers were in St. Louis that weekend at a balloon festival … still manning the Flying Tomato!Garcia's died on campus the moment they moved out of the 2-story location on Wright St., IMO. I know it hung around for a few years further down Green St., but that location was far enough from campus that it didn't get the benefit of heavy foot traffic that you get at Green and Wright.
As long as the tomato balloon never goes away... *nostalgic sigh*
The name fits.
I visited the LaBamba on Mattis last year. Like Garcia's, its a shell of what it used to be in the 90s. Quality and flavor not close to what was. A shame.I looked up La Bamba's and they still have 7 locations in 3 states including one in downtown Chicago. Who knew?
Labamba late night: Michelin star restaurantRight by the LaBamba left in Champaign. Still tastes the same.
If you ever go to San Diego get a California burrito and LaBamba seems like a distant memoryLabamba late night: Michelin star restaurant
LaBamba during the day (sober): didn't know they were allowed to sell cardboard
I've consistently heard San Diego has ridiculous Mexican food but still never been. Will be top of the list when I do.If you ever go to San Diego get a California burrito and LaBamba seems like a distant memory

Also I heard furphy to UConn....boo!
We're pretty much killing it on recruiting and portal. Guys not cutting it at other schools really isn’t our target.Get him on the rebound from not playing...

Ouch, that's something we can't do.
Sir, you don't have to go to San Diego for better burritos than La Bamba. Most places within a few hundred miles of the border or any major American city will do.If you ever go to San Diego get a California burrito and LaBamba seems like a distant memory
