Not a bad guess, Piper said the same thing earlier. I didn't see the connnection earlier, although that makes a lot of sense. Although think Riley has bigger frame and better game/higher ceiling. I was thinking along the lines of Shaun Livingston although Shaun never played college bball.

IMHO....this team was assembled to learn to play together and make a run in 2025-26. It would be nice to see a SS or E8 run, but my feeling is that they are too young. Next year, if BU can get most of them back and motivated, the goal should be singular....win 'em all.

Yet the fact (strong educated opinion) remains that the 80s were better for UI sports...and most things.
I don’t agree with them being a top 10 team, but I do think returning a bulk of your production is underrated, especially with how Purdue function in recruiting. They have a first team all B1G guy, players with good experience (TKR, Loyer), and a bunch of guys who have potential (Jacobsen, Heide, Colvin). I do think they are missing a piece like Lance Jones or Gillis off the bench this year, but I don’t think they fall off that hard without Edey. I do think if one of their guys with potential, especially Colvin, steps up, they can be pretty good.
I know a lot of y’all think Smith is an Edey merchant, and it’s true to an extent. However, his playmaking and shooting is probably the best in the B1G and it’s really not close. Also, Painter is a top 5 coach in the B1G

I also think they're giving Painter the benefit of the doubt since his teams so often outperform.
But I still think top 10 is too high.

Kinda like Michigan State was top 5 in the preseason poll last year. I look for Purdue to fall to a similar fate.
Does anyone else get a sense that the season will be totally unfair for our opponents? I can see a complete bench substitutions five at a time like a hockey team with our fighting Illini team.
This is the best team that has ever been assembled in Champaign-Urbana. we may not win every game but it’s gonna be close if we lose one. I feel sorry for the other teams.
